Not sure why Pittsburgh is the slight dog here and the bettors are in love with West Virginia here. Pittsburgh in my mind will have a scrappy improved team this year they showed it against FSU and West Virginia has not been tested at all yet this season. The crowd in Pittsburgh will be fired up for this one as these two renew their old rivalry from the BIG East. Love the Panthers at home here as a nice value team.

Here is Sacramento a bottom feeder until they show some spark and hope with development of their young payers and they lose their best player in Marvin Bagley III to injury and have now gone 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS in their last five. Los Angels of course has reloaded and with LeBron James playing the point they now have the best all round facilitator in the league averaging 11 assists 24 points and 8.0 rebounds. I look for the Lakers to sleepwalk through this contest while the Kings will fight and scrap until the final buzzer. Take SACRAMENTO!

The Key: The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are going to be one of the most improved teams in the country this year. They are coming off a rare down season in which they went 14-19. But they returned all 5 starters this year and gave North Carolina a run for its money won the road in the opener. The Fighting Irish have since won by 35 over Robert Morris and by 29 over Howard. That Robert Morris score is important here because it gives them and Marshall a common opponent. Marshall only beat Robert Morris by 7, meaning the Fighting Irish were 28 points better in their matchup. And we’re only having to lay 18.5 points here. Marshall went on to lose by 26 to Toledo at home. This is the first road game of the season for the Thundering Herd, and I don’t expect it to go very well for them. Marshall is 1-11-1 ATS in its last 13 games following a loss. The Thundering Herd are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Fighting Irish are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 against C-USA teams. Northern Illinois is looking for their first win of the season as they host Coppin State on Friday. The Huskies lost 64-54 at home to UNI in game one, but then lost 70-52 at Iowa State. They don't do a lot right early on and don't have a ton of scorers to rely on. With the slow pace, I find it hard to believe that they will be able to run and hide from Coppin State. Eugene German is tough, but he needs help. Coppin State lost 91-84 to Rider in game one at home then fell by 32 at Virginia Tech in a game that I was hoping to get to cover. After those rough losses, the Eagles bounced back and beat Loyola Chicago 76-72 on the road. Dejuan Clayton is their main star and Kamar McKnight is one of the others who will help. I just don't see how NIU pulls away enough to cover this large number especially at their slow pace.

My money is on the Ragin' Cajuns to cash in a win and cover as a slim home dog Friday night against the Penguins. Youngstown State may have all 5 starters back, but they are still a middle of the pack team in the Horizon League. I just don't see Louisiana having much trouble beating the Penguins at home, especially with how they are scoring. Ragin Cajuns are averaging 81.7 ppg and shooting 41% from behind the 3-point line. They should have a big edge from deep, as Youngstown is only averaging 6 made 3's a game and shooting just 21% from deep. BET LOUISIANA +1.5!

I'll take my chances here with Oklahoma City as a home dog against the 76ers. I just feel that Philadelphia is overvalued right now and are not a great road team to start with. Also, this feels like a great spot to jump on the Thunder coming off an ugly 26-point loss at Indiana on Tuesday.
Rest is definitely a big factor in why I like OKC, as they are playing on a full two days rest, while the 76ers are playing their second straight on the road and 3rd in the last 4 days. Philadelphia is 4-0 at home compared to 3-4 on the road. Thunder are also a much better team at home, as they are winless at 0-4 on the road.
OKC is 6-2 ATS last 8 vs a team from the East, 4-0 ATS last 4 when playing on 2 days rest and 4-0 ATS last 4 off a SU loss by more than 10. Give me the Thunder +3.5!
