    Sage Northcutt

    So this dude is coming to the UFC. Sage Northcutt. He's 19. And Sherdog, in what I gather is a mixture of tongue-in-cheek joke-hype and legitimate enthusiasm, has been going crazy for the guy.

    Anyone heard of him? He went 5-1 as an amateur and is 5-0 as a pro (albeit all but one of those wins are against cans). I think he looks promising. At only 19 he has a lot of time to develop.

                      BOL. Wonderboy was already a very experienced full contact kickboxer when he came to the UFC. Let's give this kid some time to develop first.

                      Although, since you bring up Wonderboy, Northcutt also comes from a sport karate background so a Wonderboy vs Northcutt matchup is very intriguing.

                          Yes but Browne presents a unique experience for anyone who's relatively new to "the big time" in that he's going to take you to the limit, even if you're beating the shit out of him. It's an important gauge to see what kind of heart and toughness this kid has.

                                              Actually nobody had heard of his opponents to that point, except maybe people who follow the underground canadian MMA scene. Jordan Mein made his debut against Rory, and Guymon made his UFC debut against Rory. Similar positions, really.
