Mahoning Valley - Race #8

#1 Hebrides	Willing to take a little price shot here in a race with what looks like only one other confirmed frontrunner, so I wonder if maybe she can use that stretchout pace to control things the whole way.
#5 Dee Dee B	Reliable finisher doesn't have any real early speed which could be a liability here, but she figures to be getting past horses at least some of these late. One of the ones.
#6 Hayek	She's the other forward player in here who could either set the tempo or force the issue, and I think either of these two who are likely to be involved early can stick around late.
Race Summary	Hebrides has a little pace from the inside that might keep her in a good spot early on in a race where a few of the main threats look likely to be running late.

Mahoning Valley - Race #9

#1 Chipofftheoldblock	Not quite sure how he'll fit here, but he might have some room to improve today after turning in a couple of even efforts in Hot Springs. Could see that transferring OK here.
#4 Jokemeister	He's committed pace with pretty decent form on his page, and it would be no surprise to see him take this group the entire way on the engine if he doesn't take any serious pressure into the turn.
#2 Thoughtthatcounts	His local debut was super sharp and produced an easy win, and something similar would keep him in the frame here with another decent tracking trip likely waiting for him.
Race Summary	Chipofftheoldblock needs a bit better than he showed in recent starts, but he might class up OK with this local crew and could find a little more punch late here.

Mahoning Valley - Race #10

#2 No Body Likes Me	She has fairly honest finishing form that makes her appealing enough in hopes that the likely chalk will get a little bit of pressure and fold up late.
#3 Gila	She has enough pace to be up top here, and she figures tough with this local crew if she's able to avoid taking too much heat from the stretchout player drawn outside of her.
#4 Lofty Cowtown	Don't really think a whole lot of her in this spot, but I could see her forcing the issue early with Gila, and she might be in a position to inherit the lead into the lane if that one doesn't stay on.
Race Summary	No Body Likes Me should be able to bounce back today after the rare dull run last out, and I'm hoping the price will stay just playable enough with Gila likely to take some cash.

Race Summary	No room for error in a field that is a combined 18-for-50 at one mile. LORD SHELDON, first or second in 9 of 13 starts last year spanning several tracks and surfaces, should be in the winning hunt again. He was compromised by a slow pace in a long sprint on the turf last out, but rallied into familiar photo-finish view nonetheless. Bet to win and place and play a 5-ALL exacta.

Turf Paradise - Race #6

#4 MR. MOUNT DUTTON (4-1)	Carries heavy – but appealing -- work load into his first start.
#5 SLEW O’MISCHIEF (3-1)	‘Blazing’ speed mission produced runner-up finish, shortens up.
#7 SMILE DONT WINK (5-1)	Also turning heads in the morning; dam had 8 seconds in 13 starts.
Race Summary	MR. MOUNT DUTTON debuts off a long series of quality workouts for a trainer-jockey duo in the midst of a 9-for-30 winning streak and +37 percent return on investment in the last 30 days. He shows a 3F bullet in :35-1/5 and a 5F gate move in 1:00-3/5, to name a few. Bet to win and place and play a 4-5-7 exacta box.

Race Summary	SHIP IT RED rallied for minor awards in his last three sprints under these conditions. The cutback to 5F and 4-for-60 record are the concerns, but with a lively pace expected up front and Americano getting the riding assignment with a 5-pound weight break, bet to win and place and play a 1-6-9 exacta box.

DERRYGOOLIN - As long as Americano keeps this racer off the pace, I have to believe this one could be a big winner. A win pct the likes of what Americano and Tamayo have achieved together is outstanding. On board this entrant on Feb 13th and Americano is right back in the irons in today's contest. This mare is in good form. Finished third on Feb 13th. ENGLISH DANGER - Everybody's got their favorite tracks, but if you ask this horse, I think her answer would be Turf Paradise.

SPRINGTIMEPRINCESS - Utilizing this jockey/handler combination is a smart move. I always like to see a horse getting Lasix for the first time. Sanchez-Pinero adds it on this one today. This horse works out a lot. Her multiple morning drills in 2 weeks should have her in good condition. CAROUSEL QUEEN - This filly likes to lay just off the pace and the way things shape up here, she should get an idyllic trip. Dropped in class last out, and keeps in that lower level today. A good sign this equine is comfortable and ready to go. The addition of blinkers usually means that a trainer wants a pony to show more speed or to keep her attention focused. GRUENE HALL - I expect a big race from this filly today. She ran a huge race at big odds when she made her debut on Jan 28th. It is my opinion that fillys run better the 2nd time they get Lasix. Guerrero puts this filly on it for the second time today, so give this one a look.

GINGERSAYSCHILL - This filly hasn't had any recent good fortune in short distance contests. Tough to play her in this contest. WEST SIDE DIVA - No success for this entrant in a sprint race over the last 60 days tells me that this filly is in a very difficult circumstance Hasn't been getting close at all lately. Should be difficult for this horse to beat this bunch off of that last rating. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class figure, so put her on the possibly overvalued contestants list. MARILYN M - Doesn't appear to have enough good qualities to justify the price.

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - CAROUSEL QUEEN - Some elements to consider. This filly is going on Lasix for the 2nd time. My information shows that any time Lake does this, the animal is fit and ready to go.

Gelding has one of the most solid win stats in the grouping and that could be the deciding factor when they hit the wire.

The choice this time is PRINCE OF TIDES. Overall figures look good. Can't throw him out of the picture. Could best this group of horses, just look at the speed rating - 80 - from his most recent showing. A very nice play in here as he has one of the highest winning stats in the field of horses as well as excellent credentials all around. JUST PLAIN LOCO - Don't let a nice horse with such a clear-cut winning pct like this be passed over. Morrissey has been able to get this interesting entrant to perform when sending to the post. Definite exotic possibilities. REAL PEACE - The group happens to know that when you put Bartlett and Engblom together very nice results frequently occur. The panel of smart guys has Bartlett on its list of drivers who are tearing it up within the recent past. Last 30 days win pct is outstanding.
