You have to give BC some credit for what they have been able to do this season, and while they are off the 2 game losing streak they have 6 wins, and are fighting for a 7th and 8th according to head coach Haffley. They have a couple extra days of rest for this game, and are at home where they have played well this season. Miami on the other hand has not played well on the road, and I think they are in a tough situation following back to back losses in crunch time to National Title contenders with Florida State, and Louisville. Now they go up north and I don’t expect them to be very excited about this game. They have not won with margin in ACC play with wins coming by 3 and 8 points. It’s been a very disappointing season other than their win against a down Clemson team.

            ASA

#116 ASA FREE PLAY ON Boston College +10.5 over Miami FL, Friday at 12 PM ET - We expect Miami to be flat for this one. They just put all of their physical and emotional effort into the last 2 weeks vs the top 2 teams in the ACC, FSU & Louisville. The Canes lost both by a TD. It’s going to be tough for this team, that has already qualified for a bowl game, to get up and go play in cold weather Boston (windy and wind chill in the 30’s at game time) over the Thanksgiving break. U of M hasn’t been good on the road with a 1-3 SU record (only win @ Temple) and they’ve been a poor favorite this year going 2-5 ATS in that role. Going back further they’ve been favored 22 times since the start of the 2021 season and covered only 6 of those games. QB VanDyke played well in last week’s game but he is not 100% with a knee injury but was forced back into action when Emory Williams, who started vs FSU a week earlier, was injured. BC had won 5 straight but did not play well the last 2 weeks losing to Va Tech and @ Pitt. Their game vs Pitt was last Thursday so they’ve had extra time to get ready after a loss while Miami will be traveling on a short week. Miami 2-5 in league play with wins by 3 & 8 points. Miami just 10-13 SU record in ACC play since start of 2021 and only 3 wins by more than this spread (9 points). We anticipate BC brings a great effort in their home finale coming of 2 straight losses. This should be close.

              Free Play: Iowa/Nebraska Over 25.5

The average total on Iowa's past six games is 32.6 points. Yet it has been a sucker's play to go Over because the Under won in each of these six games. But now the record for lowest total in a Power 5 matchup has been shattered by this Over/Under number in the Iowa-Nebraska game. Call me a sucker, but I have to believe these two teams find a way to produce at least 26 points. Iowa quarterback Deacon Hill went 19-for-29 passing for 167 yards and one TD in the Hawkeyes', 15-13, win against Illinois last week. Hill is well below par, but he is improving. Nebraska ranks 58th in pass defense. The week before that game, Iowa put up 22 points on Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights give up fewer yards per game than Nebraska and 19.1 points a game while the Cornhuskers allow 18.7 points per game. Nebraska has scored at least 17 points in seven of its past nine games. The Cornhuskers rank 28th in rushing. They are going with Chubba Purdy, who I believe is their best quarterback. Purdy faced a good defensive team in Wisconsin last week and had 274 all-purpose yards running and throwing while accounting for two touchdowns. Remember, the Hawkeyes recently lost Cooper DeJean, their best defensive back and one of their top defenders.

Friday CFB Free play. My selection is on Missouri minus the points over Arkansas at 4 pm et on Friday.

Missouri is a team that few have paid much attention to this season but all the Tigers have done is impress, going 9-2 SU and 7-4 ATS. They barely eked out a two-point win as double-digit home favorites against Florida last week but that only helps to keep this number in a reasonable range as they wrap up the regular season with a road date against Arkansas. The Razorbacks have won two of their last three games to salvage something from an otherwise disappointing season but the road ends here as they won't be going Bowling regardless what happens on Friday. Even in last week's blowout win over non-conference foe Florida International, the Hogs still failed to cover the spread. They check in 5-6 ATS on the campaign. I expect the Tigers offense to prove to be too much for a Razorbacks team that hasn't done anything particularly well this season. Take Missouri.
