Celebrated Oaklawn Park reminds me of a splendid college town ... a college town geared for horse racing that is. Everything in Hot Springs is about the Meet, and everyone in-town knows of its importance. A weekend of racing is wrapping up, so enjoy it while it lasts.

At Horseracing.net/us we have you covered, including all of the action! It is a good time for some of the best that North American racing has to offer. Stay tuned!

Most Likely Winner: (Race 7: Tempt Fate #4, 5/2):

My “sure shot” pick is this one from the barn of Carl Deville. With some nice form, this Arkansas bred looks mighty impressive coming into this AOC contest. After competing in some solid “Non-G” events, the colt won all of his races at Oaklawn during the 2021 Season. What an impressive performance, and I would expect that trend to continue at a condition level like this one. Jerry Caroom owns this 4-yr-old, and with Florent Garoua in the irons, I cannot see anyone in this field who has a shot against this one. A poor attempt last time out at Delta should not be a deterrent. Let’s bet to win …

            Wagering Recommendation: $100 Win, #4

Off-the-Pace Play of the Day: (Race 6: Skyline #4, 20/1):

Trainer Allen Milligan has a 1st time starter that is well-bred by Street Sense. You might be a bit wary of backing types like these, but there is major value afoot here. At odds that are sure to be double-digits when post time rolls around, I think this is a major play. You get an experienced rider in Martin Garcia, plus looking at the sire/dam 1st starter stats … it looks good! A WPS Graduated Bet makes a ton of sense … talk about value!

            Wagering Recommendation: $100 Bankroll, Graduated Wager WPS #4 ($10-W, $15-P, $75-S)

            Spotlight Race of the Day: (Race 8: Dirt, 6F, OC50k, F&M 3+):

The “highlight” race on the Sunday card is this tough OC Co. battle. Most of the money will flow in the direction of Ron Moquett’s Sarah Harper #3. That is probably fair and just, especially considering this filly by Vancouver (AUS) is building quite a resume over 3 races. She has improved with each race, and her work at Churchill was quite a springboard. Coming to Oaklawn though might be tougher than you might think. Sometimes the transition is not as smooth. There is no doubt that when it comes to ability, Moquett is an ace. Maybe you want to accept 8/5, but I am not as keen. Instead, I want to try and beat her, with a couple of other entries. How about taking Break Curfew #4 and Perfect Hapiness #5. The Hiles and Cox Barns are strong, and each of these runners will give us odds that tend toward overlays. The Cox entry, in particular, really piqued my interest when she competed back at Indiana Grand. Her conditioner uses that track effectively, and she should not be overlooked whatsoever. Pairing these 2 over the presumptive favorite appears to be a nice wager. That should get the job done, and help us go home a winner before the Oaklawn day is done.

            Wagering Recommendation: $2 Exacta Cold, 4/5 w 3

              Race 2 : 6-1-3-5
              Race 3 : 2-5-1-6

NYRA's Aqueduct Racetrack just completed what has been touted as a "very successful" Fall Meet, especially concerning handle. They immediately head straight into their Winter set. Though the turf is covered until April, dirt racing is 100% available ... so, this is still one of the tracks that garners mass attention.

At Horseracing.net/us we have you covered, including all of the action! It is a good time for some of the best that North American racing has to offer. Stay tuned!

Most Likely Winner: (Race 4: A Ring Thing #4, 5/2):

If you are looking for a “fair deal” on this Sunday, then check out this 4-yr-old from the Trites Barn. She has the proper class rating for this level, and though she finished 4th last time, there is no doubt that she has the chance to score a victory. With only 1 win in 15 starts, that might not be so promising, especially considering her recency. But I see a breakthrough coming … The best news is that expert rider Jose Ortiz gets the call, and his ability is extremely sound. This one is a bet …

              Wagering Recommendation: $100 Win, #4

Off-the-Pace Play of the Day: (Race 6: Striking Speed #6, 8/1):

Looking for value … it is time to do some bargain shopping. Down in the basement I was rummaging through the 1/2 price bin, and I found this gem. Blessed with a proper sobriquet, this Rob Atras runner is coming down 2 classes. The accomplished conditioner is trying to get his gelding on track. This one has been scrambling around in the dark looking for his car keys everywhere but under the streetlight. It is time to get going in the proper direction. An opportunity is before us when it comes to backing an entry that could be on the way up. You might be getting double-digits on the tote, and with Kendrick Carmouche in the saddle, that gives us an even better chance for a score. Do not miss out on this son of Brilliant Speed!

              Wagering Recommendation: $100 Bankroll, Graduated Wager WPS #6 ($10-W, $15-P, $75-S)

Spotlight Race of the Day: (Race 8: Dirt, 1 Mile, ALLW82k, 3+):

The focal point on this Sunday card is this high-level ALLW Co. contest, and I would not miss it for anything. It looks as though trainer Chad Brown will be in possession of the race time favorite. Here is a runner that has all the makings of a stakes superstar. By Curlin, Winter Pool #9 finished 2nd at Keeneland last time, and it was another solid performance. This will be his 1st time at Aqueduct, and I am sure he will be well-bet at M/L odds of 5/2. Manny Franco gets the mount, and it will be interesting to see how his Winter Meet develops. As far as another possible option, there is no way we can leave out John Terranova’s Three Jokers #8. This runner is laden with class, after competing in several “Non-G” races over this past year. With limited success, he should appreciate an actual drop, and I am thinking the son of Twirling Candy will be pretty competitive by the end with the aggressive Dylan Davis at the controls. One other to consider is Adare #5, a smart-looking runner who is trained by famed SoCal conditioner Neil Drysdale. His form looks solid with Jose Lezcano, and he could be dangerous when it comes to his overall speed. This one is coming into his 3rd in the cycle, and that is a popular angle. Let’s use these 3 in a Trifecta Box, and get a score to wrap up the weekend.

Wagering Recommendation: $2 Trifecta Box, 5/8/9

Race 9: #6 War Weapon, #4 Excellent Daddy, #9 Star Brite, #13 Lucky With You
                Race 10: #1 Packing Victory, #5 Sauvestre, #7 Parterre, #14 Toronado Phantom

                Race 1: Maurice Handicap

#3 Master Delight is chasing back-to-back wins after scoring in style last time out. He finds a winnable contest even with the field pretty much at set weights barring the top-weight, who is #1 Fast Most Furious. That horse at the top might not be favoured by the hefty impost but still, he does boast a stack of class on this bunch which could well prove too much, especially as a 102-rater. #8 Cobhfield did well on debut to finish third. Expect improvement once more. #2 California Ten has claims.

                Race 2: Beauty Generation Handicap

#6 Good Runner turned his form around to finish a game second last time out. He can improve off that effort here and with Zac Purton engaged he is the one to beat. #1 Marvel Dragon makes his second start in Class 4 this term. This is a suitable grade for him. #9 Lady First doesn’t win out of turn. However, he still has consistency on his side and this contest suits with Joao Moreira up. #13 Moonluck is open to taking another step forward here.

Race 3: Jim And Tonic Handicap

#8 Helene Allibor seems to have taken a liking to blinkers in Hong Kong. He’s racing in very good form and the nine furlongs looks his go. #3 Entrusted is racing well. He’s a two-time winner this campaign. #5 Champion Dragon closed rapidly last time out. Christophe Soumillon hops up here and the inside gate looks a plus. #2 Tempest Express has claims although the wide draw isn’t ideal. Zac Purton will see that he gets his chance regardless.

Race 4: G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase

#4 Stay Foolish is well-versed across his career as a solid performer over the staying distances. He slots in as a bit of a dark horse here, especially with some strong form in Japan behind the likes of Makahiki and Win Marilyn. He might be worth taking a chance on. #1 Pyledriver is a tough British on-pacer. Expect he runs a big race having been set for this contest a while ago. #2 Glory Vase won the 2019 edition of this race. He’s a big player. #8 Ebaiyra isn’t without a chance. Include.

Race 5: G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint

#12 Resistencia is a five-time winner in Japan who makes her first start overseas. She looks to have settled into Hong Kong nicely and from gate seven she should get every chance here. #4 Wellington is the best chance from Hong Kong. He won the G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize last April in style and if he’s wound up this weekend then he is easily the best of the home team. #2 Pixie Knight won the G1 Sprinters Stakes last start. Gate eight is suitable. Expect a big performance from the eye-catching bay. #8 Naboo Attack can finish hard if they run along here. He has a powerful finish when required.

                Race 6: Lord Kanaloa Handicap

Cracking sprint contest on the undercard. #11 California Spangle has turned a corner this term and he looks like an incredible talent. He slots in light here as he eyes back-to-back wins. Only concern is the sharp rise in grade. #1 Trillion Win is looking for his fourth consecutive win. He’s on the rise and he doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. #4 California Rad has claims. Expect he gets his chance with Zac Purton up. #6 Fantastic Way draws ideally. He’s a big player.

Race 7: G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile

This is #1 Golden Sixty’s toughest test to date but he does appear up to it. He’s looking for his 16th consecutive win and 19th overall, an incredible task but one he appears capable of. He’ll come from the back with a withering burst late. #2 Danon Kingly is a more than worthy competitor as this year’s G1 Yasuda Kinen winner in Japan. Form doesn’t get much better than that and he’s easily the main danger. #6 Salios is a bit of a wildcard. He boasts placings behind Contrail and a G1 score over the mile. Expect a big showing. #3 Indy Champ is next best. He might be getting on in age but he still has the class required to be ultra-competitive here.

Race 8: G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Cup

#11 Lei Papale is a classy little filly who should roll forward and make her own luck. Strong booking of Christophe Soumillon signals intent and her best could well see her remain undefeated over 10 furlongs. The step back from 11 furlongs is key to her chances here. #4 Hishi Iguazu brings solid enough form over. He’s run in a number of strong races and his handler – Noriyuki Hori – has an incredible record at the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races with three wins from nine runners. #8 Dubai Honour is a classy operator from Great Britain. He placed in the Champion Stakes at Ascot and that level of form holds him in good stead. #12 Loves Only You has become a globetrotting megastar. She won the QEII Cup in April in Hong Kong and a repeat of that run should see her prove ultra-competitive again, especially following her recent success at the Breeders’ Cup.

                Race 9: Snow Fairy Handicap

#6 War Weapon is a super talent and he returns second-up this term after posting a blinder first-up last month. He can improve off that and has since looked very well between runs. Expect a big effort. #4 Excellent Daddy won nicely two starts ago. He has a touch of class and he wouldn’t surprise here. #9 Star Brite steps out for his Hong Kong debut. #13 Lucky With You has a stack of ability. Suspect he’s vulnerable first-up, however still, he must be respected.

                Race 10: Highland Reel Handicap

#1 Packing Victory is a three-time winner from four starts. He placed in a quality contest last time out and his meteoric rise through the grades doesn’t look over. #5 Sauvestre grabbed a close-up second last start. Ryan Moore hops up now and he’s ensured every chance here. #7 Parterre has a bit of a quality and his latest run finally appeared as though he was coming to hand. Expect more improvement. #14 Toronado Phantom gets in light. Joao Moreira hops up and he has claims here.

Al Cimaglia: Pompano Park Early Pick 4 Analysis

                  December 12, 2021 | By Al Cimaglia

Pompano Park begins the week with a 12-race card. The 0.50 Early Pick 4 starts in Race 6. The sequence has a $15,000 guaranteed pool with a 12% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

                  Race 6

1-Rocks Stormyd (2-1)-Was showing fine form but was derailed by a sloppy track and an outside post draw in last. Back in with those he recently handled. Boyd should be able to work a good trip from here. Will single hoping for big try and a dry track.

                  Race 7

1-Song Cycle Senese (15-1)-Beat $10K claimers, was claimed and now steps up. But the win came in a quick 152.2 mile on a sloppy track. Has enough gate speed to race close to the top and could trip out at a price.
3-Brilliant Strike N (5/2)-Has been a 1/2 length short in the last 2 and now is back in the Plano barn. This will be the 4th local start and figures to be in the hunt again.
4-Real Peace (3-1)-Has done good work at Plainridge versus higher-end talent and should fit well with this crew. Also likes the Pomp hitting the board in 9 of 15 with 3 wins. The sticking point is if the 6-year-old will be ready to battle in the 1st local start with the last race coming on 11-18.
7-Captain Malicious (6-1)-Comes off the best start since being scratched sick on 11-7. Paced the back half in 55.1 and this race could set-up for a closer and might be overlooked at the windows.

                  Race 8

1-Hot Art (2-1)-Beat this kind in last at 2/5 for his 2nd straight picture. Likes to get on the engine and not look back. Has the gate speed to protect the rail. Looks good for another at a slim price.
6-Mac Anover (8-1)-McArdle 7-year-old has big gate speed and could get a close-up seat. If the morning line choice falters MacDonald could be in striking range at a juicy price.

                  Race 9

2-Prairie Panther (9/2)-Has just missed in the Open II class and now faces straight Open company. Not usually a very reliable angle but will respect chances. This veteran knows his way to the PPk winner's circle blindfolded, and should offer a solid price.
4-Actor Hanover (4-1)-Team Wallis entry has missed by a head in the last 2 starts. Looks like a player in a contentious affair.
5-Maxdaddy Blue Chip (5/2)-Plano will have the pedal down from the start and has the speed to beat this bunch with a smooth trip.
6-My House (4-1)-Hoosier invader came out on top last week which wasn't a surprise. But never thought the trip would be from the back of the pack. Rolled home in 54.1 with a .27 last quarter. Shetler has options but could try the same plan again.

                  0.50 Early Pick 4

                  1/1,3,4,7/1,6/2,4,5,6
                  Total Bet=$16

What You Need to Know - December 12, 2021

                    December 12, 2021

Jeff Siegel’s “What Your Need to Know”
                    Gulfstream Park – December 12, 2021

FOURTH RACE – Juvenile maiden fillies sprint five furlongs on grass, and this course and distance should suit the first-time starter Bali Bay just fine. She was purchased for $46,000 at the OBS June Sale, where she smoked a furlong in a 10 seconds flat (fastest for the distance during the preview session) and looked terrific doing it. There is nothing in the first three generations of her pedigree – meaning no stakes winners - which we’ll assume contributed to her relatively modest final bid, but make no mistake, this filly has more than her fair share of speed and talent. Assuming she breaks well, the outside draw in an eight-runner field shouldn’t be an issue against a group that appears to contain no world beaters. The J. Pinchin barn is weak in the first-time starter category, but looking on the bright side, this negative factor may help keep her odds reasonable. At anywhere near her morning line of 6-1, she’s a win play and rolling exotic key.

                    *

NINTH RACE – At first glance, this first-level allowance/optional turf miler for older horses appears fairly wide open. But after diving into the Form and considering all of the relevant angles, Hurricane Hill looks enticing. A lightly-raced five-year-old with just 14 career starts that includes 12 in-the-money finishes with four victories, the son of Fed Biz has been freshened since mid-September and returns protected in a sign of confidence. Today’s two turn trip should bring out his best, as the W. Mott-trained gelding has routed only once in his career in a mile affair at Aqueduct almost a year that resulted in victory. Rising recent speed figures indicates he’s improving; his recent work tab over the deep Payson Park surface contains a bullet drill last month, and the presence of the barn’s “go-to” rider Junior Alvarado are other plus factors to consider. He’s worth a play at 8-1 on the morning line if you can get it.

Jerry Shottenkirk: My Late Pick 4 Ticket Sunday at Gulfstream

                      December 12, 2021 | By Jerry Shottenkirk

Gulfstream Park’s Late Pick Four features a couple of allowance optional claiming races that are good enough to warrant special attention, and each is a ‘spread’ event.

The suggested Late Pick Four ticket amounts to $75, and those two top races are represented by five horses each.

Here’s a good at the ticket and the horses in play this week:

7th Race (3:25 p.m. ET, allowance optional claiming)

COOL QUEST set a rapid pace and settled for second in a good allowance race at Churchill Downs and has the speed to get in front of any of these. Has a good opportunity to stay this time around as he turns back to 5.5 furlongs.

His lone win came at Churchill (by 8.5 lengths) and can be competitive against these – many of which are much more experienced but don't appear to be as quick.

Also on the ticket: TWICE TOO MANY, FAST LOADED, FRONT LOADED, GANGLY.

                      8th Race (3:55 p.m. ET, claiming)

DETERMINED FURY has tackled some tough starter allowance types in New York and lands in a good spot for his first Gulfstream start. Should not be deterred by the all-weather surface after running on turf much of his career.

His lone win came in a turf race at Belmont and he’ll have to get tied on going this five-furlong distance.

Also on the ticket: ZIP LINE TO HEAVEN.

9th Race (4:28 p.m. ET, allowance optional claiming)

KLICKITAT ran a solid second two back when claimed by Mike Maker in New York. Ran back in a New York-bred stakes race and settled for sixth, and now drops to optional claiming company. He has the speed to be in the hunt from the start and Maker, who is 21 percent in his second start after a claim, can add to that success here. Had a good half-mile breeze leading up to this.

Also on the ticket: ROCKSTAR RO, HURRICANE HILL, ISLAND COMMISH, AVIANO.

                      10th Race (5:02 p.m. ET, maiden claiming)

POETIC CODE has decent speed and takes a step down in class for this one. Ran second two back and was fifth last out. He had the speed to keep the rail throughout, and that ground-saving journey should be good enough to get him home in front. His best starts have been on this all-weather surface, and he looks as the one to beat.

Also on the ticket: MEKANO, CLASSIC FILM.

Gulfstream Park 50-cent Late Pick 4:
                      7) #1 Twice too Many, #3 Fast Loaded, #5 Front Loaded, #6 Gangly, #8 Cool Quest.
                      8) #2 Determined Fury, #4 Zip Line to Heaven.
                      9) #3 Rockstar Ro, #4 Hurricane Hill, #6 Klickitat, #8 Island Commish, #9 Aviano,
                      10) #1 Poetic Code, #4 Mekano, #5 Classic Film.
                      The ticket: 1-3-5-6-8 with 2-4 with 3-4-6-8-9 with 1-4-5 ($75).

                        Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

                        Fair Grounds - Race #6
                        Picks Notes
#3 My Dawn She might be just playable enough on the board as the likely second choice, and she'll get Lasix for the first time while getting back to the grass here. Reliable back turf form fits here.
#5 Kit Keller She gets Lasix after a useful first try with winners on the synthetic at Gulfstream, and her turf debut at Laurel was razor sharp from close range. Something like that would probably do here.
#4 Runnin Happy Not sure if she's quite high enough quality to handle these, but she's a little intriguing on the move to the lawn having shown some decent finishing ability in some of those previous starts. Price for a piece.
Race Summary My Dawn and Kit Keller seem tough to get past in here, but 'Dawn figures to be a bit better price and has enough upside while returning to the turf.

                        Fair Grounds - Race #7
                        Picks Notes
#6 Hombrazo There isn't a ton of pace signed on in here, so he should be able to get a really nice trip from close range with his positional speed, and while his ceiling isn't as high as some of the others in here, the race shape flatters.
#1 Anneau d'Or He'll go second off the layoff after a decent enough Churchill comeback, and maybe he can build on that effort after his form went sour in his entire 3yo campaign. Overbet?
#5 Scarlet Fusion He finished in the photo with Anneau d'Or in that last one, but his form with this type has been mildly underwhelming as he continues to land underneath shares.
Race Summary Hombrazo will need his very best with these, but he should be able to find something like a first-over trip here while stepping up off the claim for the new team.

                        Fair Grounds - Race #8
                        Picks Notes
#7 Hot Stove Leauge He did good work over this turf course last season, and he should appreciate the class drop after failing to stay with some tougher groups in Kentucky on the grass. Dull form, but he's very playable on the drop.
#3 Ready to Roll Reliable turfer should have some room to bounce back after a no-show effort on the main at Churchill with better, but this drop is not a super encouraging move in the second start off the break.
#9 Ronithelimodriver He outran his 93/1 price with allowance company here last time out, and he has a real chance to pass some of these for a piece while facing an easier group. Price gets a whole lot shorter today.
Race Summary Hot Stove League ran some of his best races here last season, and he might be able to bring something a bit better after trying tougher allowance spots with no luck.

Golden Gate Fields Selections for December 12, 2021 – Horse Racing Picks

If you aren’t into NFL betting, there are plenty of other options on the calendar Sunday. Pretty soon there won’t be any more NFL Sundays. The NFL comes and goes in a flash, but horse racing remains a non-stop sport.

                          Industry Leading 9% Cashback!

There is a break between some of the big stakes racing. After the Breeders’ Cup things slow down slightly on the stakes scene, but there is always something for wagering. For Sunday, BetOnline has nine racecourses in the US open for wagering.

The feature of the weekend ran yesterday at Los Alamitos Race Course. Messier, a Bob Baffert trainee, lost as a hefty favorite in the stretch. Baffert was looking for an eighth consecutive Los Alamitos Futurity and ended up denied.

We have picks at Oaklawn Park and Golden Gate Fields this afternoon. It was a profitable day Saturday, so let’s go for the same. Golden Gate has seven races totalling $210,500 in prize money.

                          Purse:$17,000

The second assignment at Golden Gate Fields this afternoon is a $17,000 event covering 1 1/16 miles on the synthetic track. Sonora Sermon and Manaalaboutdamoney should go well for the top prize.

Sonora Sermon has finished 10th, 1st, 4th in three outings. He looked good on September 24 for a 3 ¼ length win over Louie Zamperini in a $10,500 assignment.

That was impressive form, but Sonora Sermon regressed on October 22 in a $19,000 race. The jump in grade from $10,500 to $19,000 might have been too tough, as Sonora Sermo went 4th.

Manaalaboutdamoney has finished 5th, 1st in two attempts on September 24 and October 29. He finished 5th in his opener for a $10,500 purse, and then followed up with much better.

Manaalaboutdamoney beat Running On Empty by a length in a quality trip to the wire. If he’s running in the same form, it’s probably going to be a winning day.

                          Purse:$11,500

Let’s go to Race 3 where we have a mile of racing for a $11,500 purse. Red Dahlia and Stars of Bluegrass have to be considered on these terms.
Red Dahlia is 3 for 30 and should have a chance in this one if she puts her last race in the past. She faltered in 9th for a $11,500 purse on November 25 after a winning run prior.

She went 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st in four attempts before falling back. Red Dahlia beat Fantastic Secret by a half-length for a $10,000 purse, and then couldn’t keep up two weeks later.

Stars of Bluegrass is 2 for 17 and has been running well and could be rewarded today. The filly has finished 2nd, 3rd in her last two attempts, placing 2nd behind Cocoa Cents by 1 length for a $11,500 purse on October 31.

Then she came back to show 3rd on November 25 in the same grade. As long as Red Dahlia is in proper form, Stars of Bluegrass should be able to take advantage of the situation on Sunday.

                          Purse:$17,000

Race 10 covers a mile on the all-weather track for a $17,000 purse. Malina Mischief and Respect the Hustle are shortlisted.

Malina Mischief is 8 for 45 in his career, and has finished 3rd, 4th, 1st in his previous three outings. In his latest, he looked good in a ¾ length win for a $24,000 purse.

This was after finishing 4th in a $17,000 race, so consistency has been a problem. Which runner will we see today? The win was her first in 16th races. Trusting her is hard, but in the right mood, he can win.

Respect the Hustle is looking for another to complete the hat-trick on Sunday. Hee is coming off back-to-back wins on October 3 for a $17,000 purse, and then a $24,000 win by a half length on November 6.

He has 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 1st in his last four and consistency has been strong with this one. You know what you’re going to get from him and it’s a pretty good effort. Respect the Hustle carries some value in Race 10.

Oaklawn Park Selections for December 12, 2021 – Horse Racing Picks

Off and running on Sunday following a successful trip to Los Alamitos and Aqueduct yesterday afternoon. Both tracks were profitable and that’s about all you can ask for on the racetrack.

The biggest stakes race on Sunday is located at Los Alamitos Race Course again. Yesterday it was the $300,000 Los Alamitos Futurity (Gr. 2), and then it’s the $100,000 King Glorious Stakes on Sunday afternoon.

Bob Baffert’s Messier was upset in the Futurity at Los Alamitos yesterday. Slow Down Andy cut Messier down for the upset over 1/2 Messier. That was an exciting race, and a nice payday if you had the upset.

We’re going to Oaklawn Park for a $541,000 card in Arkansas. Head below for our free Oaklawn Park picks on December 12, 2021.

                            Purse:$28,000

Race 3 is 1/16 miles for a $28,000 purse on the dirt. Exulting and Brice should have a big chance to go in Sunday afternoon.

Exulting is 9 for 39 in his career, and finished 4th, 5th, 2nd, 1st in his previous four attempts. He’s coming off a bold bid for a 2 ¾ length win in a $52,000 event on November 25.

That was impressive after placing 2nd behind Gigging by 3 ¼ lengths in a $46,000 race. It’s hard not to see Exulting involved in the finale at the wire.

Brice is 7 for 17 with a long winning streak coming to an end recently. He won five straight races from March 3 to August 6.

In his last win, Brice defeated Spun and Won by 7 ¼ lengths for a $60,000 prize. Too easy. However, Brice came up short in his stake debut, finishing 4th in the $252,000 Philip H. Iselin Stakes (Gr. 2) on August 21.

A grade drop to $28,000 should help put Bruce back in the winner’s circle.

We’re heading to Race 5 for our next pick at Oaklawn Park. Assumption and Speightstown Again should have the best chance to score.

Assumption is a one-time winner, with a victory back on November 29, 2020. He’s gone winless in seven appearances since then.

In his last two attempts, Assumption placed 2nd behind War Cross by 4 ¼ lengths for a $25,500 purse, and then 2nd most recently by a half-length in a $23,500 event on November 3.

Speightstown Again is 1 for 8 with a winning go on December 19, 2020 at Turfway Park. He defeated Nineeleventurbo by a half-length in impressive form at the $32,000 level.

It wasn’t smooth running for him thereafter, going 4th on October 20, 2021 in a $41,000 race. Then came back most recently to finish 5th in a $54,000 assignment on November 3 at Churchill Downs.

That signals a class drop for Speightstown Again. The $675,000 Speightstown Again should get on track in this spot.

                            Purse:$101,000

Race 8 goes for 6 furlongs in a handsome event at $101,000. Time Limit and Sarah Harper are your likely front runners on Sunday.

Time Limit is 4 for 14 in her career, and finished in the top-3 in ten straight attempts. She has finished 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd in her last five outings.

In her last win, Time Limit offed Risky Mischief by a half-length in a $103,000 assignment. That was impressive on August 7 at Saratoga.

However, Time Limit hasn’t been back to the winner’s circle since then. He most recently placed 2nd behind A G Indy by a neck in the $200,000 Senator Ken Maddy Stakes on November 5. Not a win, but nothing wrong with the performance.

Sarah Harper has finished 3rd ,1st, 1st in three outings and is looking for a hat-trick. In her last attempt, the filly beat Code Name Kate by 3 ¾ lengths in a $127,000 race.

That win was after a 7 length blowout on September 26 for $120,000 at Churchill Downs. Sarah Harper is continuing to get better and should give Time Limit a big challenge.

                              Race 6: Claiming

#9 El Samuro was a neck away from victory last time out, with this race serving as a small class drop today. #11 Beach Front also has been close to winning against similar horses in his last few starts.

#6 Exotic West should love getting back to the dirt for this race even though his turf effort have not been bad. It seems like she likes the dirt a bit better, though. #8 Cadeau de Paix runs second off of the layoff in this spot after a decent fifth place showing against similar company last time out.

                              Race 8: Allowance

#9 Winter Pool has finished first or second in five straight starts coming into this event. He was nearly a winner at this level last time out at Keeneland. #1 Core Conviction made his dirt debut a winning one last time out, which came over this race track. He has a solid shot for back to back wins in this spot.

                              Race 9: Maiden Claiming

#2 Bell Boy debuts today for a strong barn, with Jose Ortiz aboard, which is a very good sign. #7 War Novel showed improvement last time out. Look for this colt to continue to show improvement since being claimed by Noda two starts back.
