    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

    Parx Racing - Race #6
#3 Federal Case Speed should probably have a go of it right up near the splits today, and he proved a good fit with this kind on the hike last time out.
#6 Nomo Ron No doubt this guy's the one to beat, and he has really sharp positional pace and the ability to rate, making him a first-jump danger from close range.
#7 Honorable Service He steps up while protected off the claim, and while his hit or miss form is a concern, the better recent running lines would keep him in the picture with these.
Race Summary Federal Case is quick enough to be in the mix early, and he has historically done his best work going this 7f trip. Chance at a square price.
    Parx Racing - Race #7
#4 Gingers Wish She gets back to the level of the claim after briefly chasing and fading in those last two starts with better. Forward player might stay on better here at a price.
#1A Mystical Charge She has had 15 chances, so she's out of excuses, but her cutback form might have her finishing well late while trying this level locally for the first time.
#10 Visiting Angel She spied her way to the front in the lane last out before getting reeled in, but she has to prove she can back up that run from last out.
Race Summary Gingers Wish can get a forward trip while dropping in class, and the pace may not be overwhelming in this spot with only a few who want to be really close early.
    Parx Racing - Race #9
#2 Bode O Think this guy is going to be tough after trying Belmont competition last time out, and a repeat of that effort would probably be good enough as he returns with the locals.
#3 Inventionist He showed a bit better chasing pace in that second lifetime start, and perhaps the addition of blinkers moves him up enough that he can stick around better today.
#1 Ridin With Biden He was competitive with the locals before a couple of modest Gulfstream tries, and much like the top choice, he's a better fit in this spot.
Race Summary Bode O and Ridin With Biden can be tough here as they return to the scene of solid local performances, and I'll try to get Inventionist in the picture with one of those two obvious players.

      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Harrah's Philadelphia - Race #3
#2 RECORD MACHINE Faded after chasing fast middle splits two back, could be the target today.
#4 RANDOM HANOVER First-over third in same spot, as good as any in here.
#1 ALL HANDS ON DECK Bid to brief lead before 48-1 winner arrived the last time he drew inside post 8.
Race Summary Taking a stand against morning-line favorite In Rock We Trust, who can't be trusted to overcome a recurring breaking habit in his qualifiers. Record Machine can make good use of his speed with Gingras from an inner post and go the distance after equipment problems last week. Play a 2-ALL exacta.
      Hoosier Park - Race #3
#5 SPC RYAN P JANE Chased free-running repeater around the track in seasonal debut.
#10 GO RANDY GO Strong rally on final turn from same second-tier position, ran fourth.
#2 ARACACHE CAN DANCE Followed 'Randy's' cover, ran third, moves outside in.
Race Summary SPC Ryan P Jane chased loose leader Hoosier Chip (see tonight's 5th race below) and gamely held off a pack of closers to finish second off an 8-month layoff. The lightly-raced 5-year-old is today's Best Bet off of that effort.
      Hoosier Park - Race #5
#1 HOOSIER CHIP Three-peat in the cards with rail draw for new barn.
#6 PEY BUG Finished second to 4-to-5 favorite after six months away.
#4 DD'S BIG JOE Sprung upset two back, rallied into fast pace for third in follow-up.
Race Summary Hoosier Chip won three of his last six starts in front-end fashion as the favorite. He fits perfectly under these conditions off the claim. Take a cue from tonight's third race, as he took the measure of several rivals last out. Play 1-4 and 1-6 exactas.

        Jerry Shottenkirk's Daily Picks

Will Rogers Downs - Race #5
#3 West Coast Broker Rallied well and finished second going shorter last time; makes his second of the year and has done well at the mile distance.
#1 El Vale Just missed last time after taking the lead in the stretch; stretches out and could get a more relaxing pace going this longer distance.
#2 Heputtheaceinrace Was claimed last out and takes a step up; could be troublesome on the front end.
Race Summary West Coast Broker ran well in a sprint last out and is more effective running longer and should be able to handle these.
Will Rogers Downs - Race #7
#5 Kottoncandy Kisses Made a nice move to the lead, then was caught late; can be stronger this time and can score with a well-timed move.
#1 Tic Toc Toccet Was on the board in her last two and has shown herself to be capable of a big effort; accustomed to the mile and can be tough.
#6 Maui Jane Was up in time two back and was outrun by allowance runners last time; can be around for the finish of this one.
Race Summary Kottoncandy Kisses makes her third of the WRD season and looks ready to revisit the winner's circle.
Will Rogers Downs - Race #9
#1 Rare Poppy Ran clear late last time and can be very tough if she runs back to that one.
#2 Miss Orienta Was second to Rare Poppy as the 2-to-5 favorite last time and has the speed to be a factor throughout.
#3 Brew Casa Ran second at this level last time out and is capable of being close to the pace here.
Race Summary Rare Poppy was ultra-sharp last out and has an excellent chance for a repeat.

              Race 7 - Claiming - 8.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $8250 Class Rating: 69

FOR FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NOT WON A RACE SINCE NOVEMBER 19, 2020 OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON FOUR RACES. THREE YEAR OLDS, 118 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $5,000.

              RECOMMENDED CHOICES
              # 6 MAUI JANE 7/2
              # 4 GEORGIANO 6/1
              # 5 KOTTONCANDY KISSES 4/1
MAUI JANE has a very good shot to take this race. Has been racing solidly and has among the most favorable speed in the race for today's distance. Has a very solid record at the distance and surface, which makes me back this mare. GEORGIANO - Ought to come out strong - I have liked the way this filly has moved sharply to the front end recently. KOTTONCANDY KISSES - Has to be carefully examined - I like the figs from the last contest.

                # 7 HOUSEMAKER (GB) 15/1
I've got to go with GIVEITSOMEWELLIE. Ran a solid last race. Going in a turf route race gives this filly a very good shot. NORTH OF EDEN - Her 74 average has this mare with among the top Equibase Speed Figures in this race. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the group of horses lately.

                  Thistledown - Race #8 - Post: 4:20pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $10,300 Class Rating: 66

                  Rating:

                  #5 MAJESTIC DIVA (ML=6/1)

MAJESTIC DIVA - She got a decent speed rating the last time she tried this trip. The most recent speed fig of 59 is the best last race speed fig in the field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 DREAM FEVER (ML=2/1), #4 JILLY FROM JERSEY (ML=5/2), #1 EXTRA SALSA (ML=4/1),

DREAM FEVER - When you keep looking back through the TrackMaster past performances and don't see a victory recently, you have to say to yourself, 'Not worth it on this horse'. JILLY FROM JERSEY - Hard to keep following this sort of 'bridesmaid' horse. Not probable that the speed figure she notched on April 13th will be good enough in this event. EXTRA SALSA - This thoroughbred likes to finish in the money, but doesn't usually get the job done. Don't play in the top spot.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - MAJESTIC DIVA - I love betting on horses that have a big advantage over the rest of the field when it comes to the TM Power Rating. This one fits the bill.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: #5 MAJESTIC DIVA is going to be the play if we are getting 1/1 or better
                  EXACTA WAGERS: 5 with [2,4]

                    Penn National - Race #7 - Post: 8:36pm - Maiden Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $17,000 Class Rating: 58

                    Rating:

                    #5 GOLD TIME VIXEN (ML=5/2)
                    #1 OUR NIKKI L (ML=8/1)

GOLD TIME VIXEN - Took a significant drop in class rating last time out at Penn National. Returning to a similar level right here. Should perform well in this race. This filly should be at the fitness peak, this far into her form cycle. Earnings per race is something that I believe can be an extremely key selection factor. This racer is ranked number 1 in this bunch. OUR NIKKI L - You'll be making money right and left by turning your gambling cash onto this rider/handler combination. I believe this racer will be right there at the wire. Gets Lasix for the second time, so Houghton must have confidence in her.

                    Vulnerable Contenders: #6 CLEVER START (ML=2/1), #3 SUPER BELLE (ML=3/1), #4 BONITA LASSIE (ML=5/1),

CLEVER START - This chalk horse ran on Apr 12th and hasn't had a workout since then. Should have at least finished in the money in the last couple of months in a sprint clash to be worth the chance at minimal odds in a sprint. SUPER BELLE - Doesn't seem inspiring to me after the lack of any kind of closing response on April 23rd. BONITA LASSIE - Will probably be at the rear with too much to do down the stretch.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Put your money on #5 GOLD TIME VIXEN on the nose if you can get odds of 7/5 or more
