                    MONTREAL @ VANCOUVER | 01/21 | 9:30 PM EST
                    MONTREAL -135
ANALYSIS: These teams played a wild game in Vancouver on Wednesday, a 6-5 shootout win for the Canucks. They saw two of their top defensemen leave injured, though, so they are obviously in question here. I also like Montreal because it should be a matchup of No. 2 goaltenders Thursday and Habs backup Jake Allen is better than Canucks counterpart Thatcher Demko. Vancouver has won just nine of its past 32 in the second of a B2B.

                    USC @ STANFORD | 01/21 | 5:00 PM EST
                    STANFORD +5
ANALYSIS: Matchup of spectacular freshmen and sure-fire 2021 NBA lottery picks in USC's Evan Mobley and Stanford's Ziaire Williams. However, it's Stanford's Oscar da Silva who leads the Pac-12 in scoring at 19.3 ppg. I'm shocked the Cardinal are getting this many points, although it's not technically a home game. The Cardinal are the only power conference program yet to play at its home facility this season as they are playing in Santa Cruz for COVID reasons in California. Stanford has won all four games there. Four of the past five in this series have been decided by five points or fewer. If this comes down to free throws, disadvantage USC as it shoots just 64.2% from the charity stripe, among the nation's worst.

                    MILWAUKEE +1
ANALYSIS: Potential NBA Finals preview, and if this spread holds the Bucks will be regular-season home underdogs in a game where Giannis Antetokounmpo played for the first time in three years (see news feed). Both teams appear healthy -- LeBron James is listed as questionable but that's just the Lakers playing games for the one time they do actually rest LeBron; I guarantee it will not be here -- and will be well-rested with both having played most recently Monday. Both lost close games that night and neither has dropped two in a row this season yet. I simply think this means more to the Bucks to prove something than it does to the champs, who don't care much about the regular season.

                    TAMPA BAY -160
ANALYSIS: It's hard to know how good the defending champs really are as they beat up on rebuilding Chicago at home twice last week before having two games postponed vs. the Stars because of COVID issues on Dallas. Tampa should have winger Blake Coleman available. He was on the NHL's COVID list earlier this week but is now off it. He has two points so far. The Blue Jackets look like one of the league's worst teams with their lone win in four games at awful Detroit, averaging 2.0 goals per and yet to score on the power play. The Jackets have lost their past five as dogs and are playing a third game in four nights. Tempting to take the Lightning at -1.5 goals, but we'll stick with the moneyline.

                    NEW MEXICO -6
ANALYSIS: This is the second-earliest tip of Thursday, and boy is it ugly as the teams are a combined 6-18 overall and 0-16 in the Mountain West. Note that this game is not played at New Mexico, either, but in Utah. The Spartans took a hit late in December when leading rebounder and fourth-leading scorer Seneca Knight opted out. The Lobos lead the series against SJSU 16-3 overall. Various models, including SportsLine's, believe UNM should be a double-digit favorite, so we'll give the points. The Lobos 7-2 ATS in their last nine games vs. a team with a losing record.

In Donovan Mitchell’s career, the Jazz are 0-10 OU (-14.95 ppg) at home off a win in which he was their high scorer by double digits and 0-9 OU (-15.50 ppg) off a game as a favorite in which they had at least twice as many assists as turnovers. The Pelicans are 0-6 OU (-16.67 ppg) off a loss in which Lonzo Ball shot worse than 33 percent from the field and 0-8 OU (-15.69 ppg) off a loss in which their points scored decreased by at least 25 from the game before. We make the play the Under.

ANALYSIS: The Warriors are on the second night of a back-to-back while the Knicks are rested and riding a two-game win streak of their own. Alec Burks (20.7 ppg) is set to return for New York, which is 4-1 ATS in its last five versus winning teams. Andrew Wiggins could be rested due to knee soreness. Take the points.

ANALYSIS: The Jazz have won six in a row, covering those games by an average of 11.5 points. They just handled the Pelicans by 16 two nights ago. New Orleans has dropped six of seven, the lone win coming against defensively-challenged Sacramento. Look for Utah to bury at least 15 3-pointers and cover yet again.

ANALYSIS: The Cougars have covered four of five, are coming off a nice win at Morehead State, and should be able to hang here if not win outright. They're a much better 3-point shooting team than Tennessee State (37 percent to 26.9 percent). The Tigers have dropped three straight and are just 2-5 straight-up at home. Look for the underdog to improve to 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.

ANALYSIS: Montana State has won five in a row and is the only undefeated team in Big Sky play. Northern Arizona is horrific defensively, allowing opponents to shoot 52.5 percent. The Lumberjacks have covered once in their past seven home games. Lay it.

                        ARIZONA -2.5
ANALYSIS: If not for a last-second shot by Remy Martin against Grand Canyon, the Sun Devils would be on a six-game skid. Of course they'll be up for this rivalry game, but Arizona is the better team. The Wildcats destroyed Oregon State by 34 last time out -- the same Beavers team that just beat ASU by one. Look for the Sun Devils to fall to 0-5 ATS in their last five vs. winning teams.

ANALYSIS: The wrong team might be favored here, even with limited fans allowed to attend. In Memphis' last game, the Tigers committed 21 turnovers and had just nine assists in a one-point loss to Tulsa. That's the same Tulsa team that Wichita State just beat by 19. Memphis has failed to cover seven straight, while the Shockers are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven. The Tigers continue to get too much respect in the line.

This will be Flyers' third game in four days. Tough. Philadelphia has been outshot in every game this season, 144-97. The Bruins have a deep and talented roster and have been really good when playing with two days of rest over the past two seasons. I like Boston in this spot.
