NHL | Golden Knights vs Oilers

T.M. Selection: Edmonton Oilers (1* FREE PLAY).
Edmonton lost 3-0 in Vegas back in December and now it catches the Knights off a satisfying 5-3 win in Calgary just last night. The double-header in Alberta is a tough task for any team and I think the Knights are going to predictably stumble here. Las Vegas has struggled in this spot for bettors as well all season by going just 10-12 (-9.1 units) after a win by two goals or more. Conversely, this is a position in which the Oilers have excelled in by going 22-15 (+9.9 units) in trying to revenge a loss vs. an opponent. Off a 4-1 win over Columbus, I expect the home side to build off that performance and to take full advantage of this great situation. Consider Edmonton on Monday night!

The Early 0.20 Pick 5 with a $75,000 guaranteed pool kicks-off the card at Woodbine Mohawk Park this evening. That competitive sequence will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 1

4-Dunbar Hall (5/2)-Was put away in early Nov. after having breaking issues and came back last week with a good effort versus better. Makes 2nd start on Lasix, should be the best here with a decent trip and if minds manners.
6-Super Schissel (9/2)-Drops down to a more comfortable spot but will need a top effort. The 1-13 record at Wbsb isn't great but deserves some respect versus this crew.
7-Exemplar (8-1)-Looking for a decent price in 3rd start off the bench for Moreau and Filion did stick. Could be sitting on a big try and 10-year old knows his way to the winner's circle.

Race 2

4-Dreamfair B J (2-1)-Makes 1st start for the Cullen barn and drops to the basement looking for a win. JMac steers and knows how to work a trip on a slow starter. This looks like a drop and pop situation.
7-Rock This Way (4-1)-Didn't show much vigor in last start but Filion returns tonight for hot barn. This is another who drops to a spot to shine.

Race 3

1-Hoya Saxa (9/2)-Decent effort from the 2nd tier in last and should be in the mix despite an 0-10 record at Mohawk. Maybe starting on the rail and a racing on a fast track will help this Kadabra 3-year-old to take 1st picture.
7-TLF Royal Lake (5/2)-Faces easier and McClure picked the #9 so Filion takes a spin. Looks to have some speed and has passed foes down the lane, so best to respect.
9-Tymal Riggs (6-1)-Got off the gate and was almost a city block behind the pack and then made up a lot of ground. McClure is back between the pipes and looking for a more alert start.

Race 4

1-Mister Godro (4-1)-Is only 2 for 24 at Wbsb but won 1st start for new barn. Filion steers again and he knows well. Could benefit from the post draw, should be on top or in the 2-hole and looks like a player.
7-Tomy Terror (9/2)-Was claimed in last like #8, and now makes 1st start for Fellows. Henry steers and he could get on the engine and not look back.
8-Real Wicked (3-1)-Makes 1st start for Moreau and was a winner in last. Should be a threat as long as Roy can find some cover and put in play.

Race 5

6-Charmbo Prince (9/2)-Strong effort in last to notch 2nd LT win and now is back in against a similar crew. Will respect chances for another picture and should be rolling late.
7-Golden Dynamite (3-1)-Has been trying hard but has come up short in last few starts. May benefit from starting outside, likes to grind and brush by down the lane.

Mahoning Valley - Race #3

#5 Breakway Prince	MSW dropper didn't take a lot of money or fire on debut, but that was also against eons better on the Poly at TP, so off that, for a Reed barn that never cranks them early anyway, he may wake up here; upset special.
#1 Moonlight Beach	Expected stiff favorite is another who has been facing better out of town for O'Neill, and new trainer Poole is 17% with these types, so off the drop, with proven form, he's going to be a real handful; will take plenty of beating.
#4 Banana Pepper	Capable sort is another who comes from TP, and the MSW run here two-back puts him in the mix, though this 5-2 ML seems a bit light, especially since he was awful last time but has run well on the Poly before; tread lightly.
Race Summary	The price will be right with the 5, as will the drop in class and likely the dirt too, so give him a look in all the slots, and especially the exotics as well, since he's eligible for a wakeup, and, aside from the heavy chalk, there's no one here to fear.

Mahoning Valley - Race #5

#5 Candy Classic	Speedster has been popping then tiring at the level, but he looks loose here, and catches two dropping favorites who are a bit tough to trust; come and catch the pick.
#7 Crazycantberighted	The chalk was a closing 3rd against better last time and will be tough here, but the drop is a worry, not to mention his lack of speed won't help; trying to beat at false odds.
#1 Riding the Wind	The other chalk was 3rd to the 7 when last seen in January and is another who certainly figures, but he too has no speed, and the rail won't help; runs out of room late.
Race Summary	The race flow says the 5 can clear this group, and the risk-reward will be there to see if he can last, so give him a look in all the slots, and especially to kick off the Pk4 as well, since a win would blow things up right off the bat, and if he gets brave he may forget to stop.

Mahoning Valley - Race #7

#3 Gift From Mom	Price player stretched out and beat allowance foes last time and now cuts back, but that win was huge, and this is a really weak group, plus local ace Quinones lands here; look out.
#6 Lil Country Grad	ML favorite regressed mightily on paper after a slew of solid runs, which says she may be going the wrong way, so while she's a player here, she's also an underlay at 7-2; second-best.
#2 My Peggy Lou	Stalker beat 'Grad last time and would be no surprise here, but the race was so slow on paper that it's tough to know what you're getting from her today; using underneath, if at all.
Race Summary	That 8-1 ML on the pick seems like a gift, as the figure she ran last time would lap this field, so as long as you sniff 4-1 or so you can believe her last was the goods and play her in all the slots, and especially in the Pk4 as well, as this is as weak a group as you'll see, and if she does hold her form, the rest are in deep water.

Turf Paradise - Race #4

#2 Howdy Kingkowboy	Tactical type will get a good go of it near the top, and a repeat of either of the last two running lines probably makes him tough here.
#1 Royal Privacy	Drops off some dull tries, but this easier bunch gives him some chance to wake up here. Underlay on the board?
#3 Vidaks Back	Looks likely to land an underneath share at best, but he's a relatively consistent type who can work out a trip to share.
Race Summary	Howdy Kingkowboy may offer a better price than the dropping Royal Privacy, and the recent form gives him a real chance to track the pace and pounce.

Turf Paradise - Race #5

#1 Warning Belle	Won't be any kind of price here, but she looks like a logical single on this card. Her early speed gives her an edge over her main foes, and she shouldn't take too much heat in the early going.
#5 Princess Nicole	Finisher might wind up with a bit too much to do, and it would be great to see her flash a touch more pace on the grass this time around.
#4 The Mallard Queen	Should be rolling late, but as is often the case, it may once again be too late to get over the top. Underneath player?
Race Summary	Warning Belle has speed in a race without a ton of other early pace, and she should be a real handful here right up top.

Turf Paradise - Race #7

#4 Tyler's Tek	He and the guy drawn right inside of him should be tough to get around in this spot, and but this guy has a bit more turf experience with better groups.
#3 Bob's All In	Tough to argue with anyone landing here off the big win last time out, and another really tactical trip could be in the cards.
#7 Pulpits Power	Might be a touch overbet compared to his realistic chances of winning this, but he'll get a decent trip near the top and may be rounding back into form.
Race Summary	Tyler's Tek is a reliable turfer, and he figures to try to come calling late after Bob's All In and Pulpits Power, both of whom have more early pace to utilize.
