MadBum v. Morejon
The Giants have been on an overall tear since the break and need this win to capture the series and MadBum needs to help get this win to solidify the non-trade of him at the deadline...holding on to the still slim playoff hopes! He allows a ton of hard contact and the Dads are a decent hitting team...getting a bunch of long balls. The wind is just gonna be slight out to right field but this park is huge and anything less than 10mph is going to still work in our favor!
Morejon is new and very green...but doesn't walk anyone and flat out MISSES BATS. His swing and miss rate so far is 17% and would rank him extended out as the MLB best or damn close...up with Snell et al. His ERA is studly and off LHP the Giants, despite streaking, has really lacked to the point of bottom 3 the last 10 days.
With 2 lineups not exactly hammering anything and 2 lefties on the mound...both with solidly double digit swing/miss rates, likely almost no free passes, and contact rates at 72 and 76% respectively, 8 sure feels like wonderful value!
