This is big game for the Rangers, who trail the Twins and Angels by 2 1/2 games for the last wild card spot. Cole Hamels is a big-game pitcher and has a strong history versus the Angels. He also has been very good since July. Hamels is 6-1 with a 2.93 ERA from July on. He is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA in seven lfetime games against the Angels, including posting a 0.61 ERA in two starts this season. Tyler Skaggs has pitched decently since coming off the DL following being out for three months with a strained obligue. Skaggs doesn't have Hamels' big game experience, though, and has a 5.46 career mark against the Rangers in six starts, including two this season. The Rangers will be without slugger Joey Gallo and Carlos Gomez. These are two streaky players, though, who don't hit for a high average. The Rangers are averaging 7.4 runs during their last 10 games. Texas has less of a distance to travel for this game than the Angels, who are returning home from the East Coast. The Angels haven't been home since Aug. 9. So the spot isn't good for them mentally returning to Anaheim for the first time in such a long while.

We are higher on the Browns than most are in the pre-season (not necessarily regular season) as this team continues to build mojo for this squad. Note, the Browns played well against the Saints in their last game and near the end the Saints were trying to end Sean Payton's Pre-Season drought over the last few years of not winning a pre-season game it seemed. The Browns offense scored 20 points and the talent level on this roster is simply much better this year as compared to last year. Note, the Browns have the likes of Osweiler, Kessler and Kizer who all have experience playing or are playing relatively well. Plus, the Giants quarterback rotation is a bit of a mess with the likes of Josh Johnson, Geno Smith and David Webb none of whom who overly impressed with their 12 point showing in their last game. This game means more to the Browns and this game is on primetime at that so the Browns will want to show that they are headed in the right direction whereas the Giants won 11 games last year and they really couldn't care less about this game.Comment

No this is not a joke! I'm taking the Cleveland Browns at home against the New York Giants and I thought the Browns showed some great progress last week. Cleveland beat the Saints last Thursday 20-14 and won the game on a late touchdown but a win is a win and you figure that momentum will carry Monday night. Quarterback play from all QB's the Browns have on the roster is the main reason why I like Cleveland and late in the game I see DeShone Kizer putting up some points and giving us another 2-Unit NFL Preseason winner.Comment

The Mets may be struggling but they have won both times as a home dog off a -140 or higher home favored loss and Arizona is 3-6 as a road favorite in this range. In fact road favorites since 2004 that lost by 2+ runs on the road and are now taking on a team off a -140+ home favored loss and scored 3 or less are a dismal 2-12, Arizona is hitting just .217 the past week. We may see a motivated Robert Gsellman on the mound tonight after GM Sandy Alderson seemed to light a ire mentioning that Gsellman needs to pitch well to stay up here.
