Monday's Selection ...
For Monday, Raise the Bar 1500♦ is Boston with Pomeranz on the RUN LINE over San Diego with Jackson. At 8:00 am eastern time, the Red Sox are -1 1/2 runs, -130 in Vegas and offshore. Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or there is no action on this release.
A little pricey for a run-line release, but if you don't think after getting shutout 1-0 yesterday in Oakland that the Red Sox won't come out here today at Petco Park and hang at least 6 or 7 runs on the scoreboard against Edwin Jackson, then you are crazy!
Prior to yesterday's blanking, Boston had scored 35 runs in their previous 3 games, and today they do have former Padres hurler Drew Pomeranz on the hill in this "homecoming" start.
Expect a warm welcome for Pomeranz, and expect him to continue his solid work with the Red Sox now that he has settled into the rotation. Pomeranz has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 5 of his last 6 starts, and he definitely has the added advantage of knowing the mound at Petco Park.
Edwin Jackson doesn't figure to be around too long in this one, as he has been torched for 18 runs in his last 11-plus innings his last 3 times out, and is 0-3.
The Padres are back home after a 3-6 road swing, and they have suffered losses in 5 of their last 6 overall.
This one is all Boston, all day long.
5 run rout on the Red Sox.
Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or there is no action on this release.Comment
