Monday NBA Opinion/Possible Best Bet
L.A. LAKERS (-3 ½) over Dallas

The defending champs struggled to a 1-4 start, but the Mavericks have won 7 of their last 8 games and won and covered each of their last 5 games. That streak, however, sets up Dallas in a negative 37-87-2 ATS road letdown situation tonight and the Lakers are 6-1 ATS at home when not laying double-digits. My ratings using all games this season would favor the Lakers by just 2 ½ points, but Dallas hasn’t been as good in the 9 games with Jason Kidd, as Kidd’s defense has really been a problem this season (the Mavs are allowing 1.15 points per possession when Kidd is on the floor and just 0.88 ppp when he’s on the bench). The Mavericks have been out-scored by 74 points with Kidd on the court and have out-scored their opponents by 95 points when he’s not on the court. If I use the Mavericks’ 9 games with Kidd then I get Lakers by 5 points in this game. I’ll lean with the Lakers at -4 or less and I’d take the Lakers in a 2-Star Best Bet at-3 or less.
