No, but historically he always has tough weight cuts, and always has to get naked on the scales to make 156 (has to be 155 for title fight). But it might have went well considering he weighed in @ 154.

Yeah....................thats dumb . Edgar had to give Penn and Maynard rematches but quickly gets swept away when he loses a close fight. Just 8 months ago Pettis was dominated by Guida and 4 months won a SD against Stephens ...........sounds like #1 number contender status to me .

So you'd rather see a third straight immediate rematch for the lightweight title and put the entire division on hold yet again while Edgar rehabs those injuries? Cause that makes so much more sense than putting Pettis in who is the last guy to beat Bendo...

It may have been a close fight but it wasn't at all controversial. Edgar got outlanded, did jack shit with the takedowns he got, and even almost got knocked out by an upkick the one time he did keep Bendo down for more than five seconds.

I think it only makes sense in light of Pettis having been promised a title shot once before and the fact that he had a very crowd-pleasing fight with Bendo.

But I agree that Henderson has looked and performed so much better than Pettis lately. Hell, I am even more confident that Bendo would beat Pettis than was that Edgar would beat Bendo. So you should all fade me and bet Pettis.

He had 7 Td's compared to 2 and out-landed Bendo 124-114 AND some sites scored it for Edgar. Yes, I call that a close fight..........but it makes so much more sense to give a guy a title shot who hasn't beaten a top 10 fighter in his last 3 fights.

Even if Edgar edged out Bendo in number of strikes landed, it wasn't by much and Bendo clearly landed the harder shots and by far did more damage. In my mind, that better represents "effective striking" in a full-contact sport. And those TDs were pretty much useless since Bendo popped right back up.

In the fight I saw, Frankie spent the vast majority of the fight getting beaten up like he was Bendo's little brother and he had just told on Bendo to his mom.
