    Re: Boxing thread plays

    Hi,

There are a number of matches on the weekend, but looks like most my websites are not betting on the fight. There is one that is available which is Hopkins vs Pascal. I'm picking Pascal, which is risky for me as I never bet against the old man. However I think he can lose to Pascal in a close controvesial decision

    - High workrate vs hopokins low work rate
    - Canadian crowd cheering even when he is missing could sway judges
    - Decision may go to the home fighter sometimes in a close fight
    - Pascals aggression could be seen as effective by the judges regardless if it is ineffective

    1.2 u (1.47) for Pascal
    .1 u (34) for Draw

I may end up betting Pascal this weekend also. The value in Hopkins is completely gone, the line opened for Pascal at -320 and is currently -215 . I'd really like to see a line on Pascal by points or decision

Really glad you dudes are with me on this one. I layed 8.8 units on Pascal in Vegas last night.

              8.8 to win 4.

I read a writer who predicted a clear 116-112 scorecard win for B-Hop. But what the guy is missing is that if in his eyes the fight went 116-112 to Hop,
Pascal will win by the same score at home.

Yea, that surprised me also. But Hop stands straight up like an antenna, and he might have platform shoes on.

Not sure if the stats are correct, hopkins reach is 71 while pascals is 67. Hopkins is definetly going to try and keep his distance and establish his jab. You can always gaurntee hopkins getting in his opponents face before every fight. You can imagine when he's 60 he will still be trying to pysch people out.

Hey SBJJ, Thats a large stake. How do to you work your units out? I based mine off scientist i.e. divide the pot by 50

Not really a large bet for me. I would say it is a medium sized bet. Works out to about 4% of my bankroll.

^^ sbjj is uses a 300-400 unit bankroll.

Like most of the guys here, I am a hobbyist. So it is no big deal if I take a 20% hit. SBJJ is a pro, he lives off his winnings... so naturally, he uses smaller fractions.

So an 8.8u bet for him is about the same as a 1.1u bet for most people, or a 2.2u bet for you and I.

LOL, tell my wife I am a pro. She thinks I suck. If we win 7K on a fight, she's like "OH well, thats good". We lose 800 bucks on a fight, she is like, "what the F did you do that for".

Probably for the best. If she is anything like my wife. You would never hear the end of it. And my wife is cool compared to most of the other dudes wives I know. I just do not think it is in a wives nature to support their husband in any way when comes to a chance being taken.

Probably why most start up companies(ideas) come from young single dudes. I think that is the case at least.
