I've never heard of that happening.

Shit's getting more and more sophisticated, but that seems like a long shot.

Not unless you execute that file locally like download it to your system then open it. Another possibility although slim is the remote viewer having some kind of vulnerability but I would just make sure both systems are patched up.

Well my brother gewt viruses on his computer alot(porn and limewire) and I always have to get them off for him. Instead of going to get his computer to fix it I've wanted to take over his so I wouldnt have to leave the house but was always afraid I might get the virus

You should be fine. There's really no way to know what some kid is working on in his basement right now to circumvent everything we know about how computers work, but I would not be worried about it if I were you. When you remote in, you are really just VIEWING his screen. I mean, if you're just using the remote desktop/remote assistance feature in Windows then you can't even transfer files because you're not truly networked like that.

                    reformat.

I don't even use an antivirus. Big who cares. I just reformat every several months. Windows gets slow as shit anyways.

                    LOL at limewire.

Yeah I just want to view his screen and take over his mouse because he's too stupid to remove anything because the virus usually has locked up his antivirus and if its any harder than hittting the scan button he has no idea what to do

I have no idea why he uses limewire still .i think its for music

I also don't use an antivirus.

If shit gets too bad then I just reformat/reinstall.

It's time to just save what he can and reinstall the OS. I would not worry about "fixing" it. When an infection gets too bad you never really can get shit to work perfectly anymore.

Yeah he only gets the bad ones. The simple ones get caught by AVG so when he gets one its one that need manually removed
