I've read that Mario Miranda is bb in bjj and ive read that he is a purple b in bjj. Does anyone know?
Everything I have read is that he is a blackbelt. I am pretty sure he is. If not, he has won enough comp to make it irrelevant. He has high level grappling.
2x GSP - He won't be fighting anyone else like GSP . . . except for GSP.
1x to a Prime Hughes - He already beat Hughes before. Also, there's a the injury situation surrounding this fight which casts a dubious light on the results.
1x to Machida - Penn was far outside of his natural weight, and plus, it's Machida.
1x to Prime Jens Pulver - It was a close decision that I think could've gone either way. Also, Penn would've finished Jens at the end of the (2nd?) if there had just been a few more seconds left in the round. And finally, that was 8 years ago and Penn has improved dramatically as a fighter since then.
And lastly. . .
1x to Edgar, in a fight that many people felt Penn won. Sherdog had this to say:
The scores are announced, and they’re shocking:
50-45
48-47
49-46
All for Frankie Edgar, the new UFC lightweight champion.
The guys at Sherdog scored it:
(49-47 Penn)
(48-47 Penn)
(49-46 Penn)
Now I'm not going to hate on Edgar's win or say he didn't deserve it. But the first time I watched the fight, I also was shocked when they announced Edgar as the new champ. I scored it for Penn for sure, though after watching it a second time I could see how they gave it to Edgar. And in any case, Edgar has beaten everyone but Maynard, and I think if they fought again he would beat Maynard, too.
I don't really see what your point is. The fact remains that the guy loses more than 1 in 4 fights. Clearly you think you're some kind of savant at picking his fights but don't make it out like betting on Penn is a guaranteed winner.
Triple-six killers in this motherfucker runnin shit

I remember you didn't give Edgar a chance in the first fight. We discussed it in depth. So what's changed? Some judges decided that Edgar was the winner? If they had given the fight to Penn, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
And besides, my point is that he has only lost to champs. EVERY FIGHTER he's ever lost to has been a champ.
You're saying that's not important? Because he's lost 1 in 4 fights, that means he'd lose to Maynard, Stephens, Guida, G-Sot, Dunham, etc? Would you really fail to bet on Penn against these guys because he was beat by GSP, Hughes, Machida and lost controversial decisions Pulver and Edgar?

I see what your saying here, but before Edgar, he was in the list with Gray, Guida, etc.
I don't see how Edgar wins this fight. He's not better than Penn in any area. Kenflo and Diego both had better ways to win. Edgar may be better all around, but those two guys are better at specific skills. So while Edgar may put on a more competitive performance, he won't win.

I think that was me man.
zY was saying how Edgar has great movement, and could give BJ fits with his speed in and out using his footwork. I was dismissing Edgar as no having a chance, zY said he had just as good a chance as anyone. He was right.
