Race 8 - Maiden Special Weight - 8.0f on the Dirt. Purse: $70000 Class Rating: 96

FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD. WEIGHT, 120 LBS.

        RECOMMENDED CHOICES
        # 9 NOISES OFF 3/1
        # 8 MAMBA FOREVER 8/1
        # 7 SCAT TU TAP 4/1
NOISES OFF looks solid to best this field. Will more than likely be one of the leaders of the pack going into the halfway point of the contest. This gelding ought to be given consideration just off the earnings per start in dirt route events alone. Had one of the most favorable speed figures of this group of horses in this race in his last affair. MAMBA FOREVER - Should be given consideration - I like the numbers from the last affair. SCAT TU TAP - Solid average speed figures in dirt route races make this equine a solid choice. He ought to be given a chance given the decent speed figs.

          Sam Houston - Race #4 - Post: 2:30pm - Maiden Special - 6.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $35,000 Class Rating: 70

          Rating:

          #4 FREE MAKER (ML=6/1)
          #7 CAJUN EDDIE (ML=7/2)

FREE MAKER - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone front-runner facing sluggish sorts today. This speedy sort should be aided by this race's shorter distance. I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough races since the layoff and should be fit. CAJUN EDDIE - This gelding has been working out well, and the recent bullet work says he's primed for a big performance today. The rider and conditioner combination have a profitable return on investment when they unite. I know the stable is serious today. The gelding gets Lasix for the first time. First-timer has morning works over the Sam Houston strip, which is always a plus.

          Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CAMPTON (ML=5/2), #5 I AM GRODD (ML=3/1), #3 MR. VALENTINO (ML=9/2),

CAMPTON - Should have at least hit the board in the last couple months in a short distance affair to be worth the risk at modest odds in a sprint. That was merely not a very good showing in the last race. I AM GRODD - Where is the pace? None to be found in here to set things up for this horse. Disappointing speed figure in the last race at Sam Houston at 7 furlongs. Don't believe this entrant will improve too much in today's race. MR. VALENTINO - This mount will likely be near the rear of the pack as this group crosses the wire.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - FREE MAKER - Ashford has found an easier level of competition for this gelding today. Last race was nowhere near as tough as this one.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Putting our cash on #4 FREE MAKER to win. Have to have odds of at least 9/5 or better though

            Charles Town - Race #4 - Post: 8:32pm - Claiming - 8.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $16,200 Class Rating: 68

            Rating:

#3 SO RED THE ROSE (ML=15/1)
            #2 DUSTWHIRL WONDER (ML=20/1)

SO RED THE ROSE - I unquestionably see good things for this thoroughbred right here. DUSTWHIRL WONDER - It looks like Baez had to be in the know about this mare on January 25th when riding her for the first time. Back atop again today. Last time this mare ran today's distance she got a fig that would probably win today's race. You probably should ignore that last affair at Charles Town in the slop where she finished out of the money. Should do well right here without the slop. Horse has improved at least 2 speed rating points in last 2 races. I look for that positive trend to continue in today's race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 CLASSIC COLORS (ML=6/5), #1 SHE FIGURES (ML=9/2), #8 LIFE IN FLASH (ML=5/1),

CLASSIC COLORS - This horse hasn't been in the mix in either of her last two efforts. SHE FIGURES - 9/2 odds isn't enough for this horse when examining the most recent efforts. LIFE IN FLASH - This mare showed little last time out of the box. This less than sharp equine ran a disappointing speed rating last time out. She shouldn't run better and will likely get beat in today's event running that rating.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Go with #3 SO RED THE ROSE on top if we're getting at least 5/2 odds
            EXACTA WAGERS: Box [2,3]

              # 1 GLOWSITY 7/2
              # 10 BABY MAN 10/1
SPIKED looks very strong to best this field. Has put up strong Equibase Speed Figures in dirt route races in the past. This filly with Franco in the irons makes her a solid choice. With Franco on top her, this filly ought to be able to break out early in here. GLOWSITY - Could beat this group given the 92 Equibase Speed Figure recorded in her last outing. Wolfsont's return on investment over the last month automatically makes this equine a strong contender. BABY MAN - Has performed strongly lately in route races, posting a nifty 80 avg speed figure. Extra focus caused by blinkers change (going on today) likely to result in a big race.

Aqueduct Horses in Focus for Friday, February 24
Posted on February 23, 2023 by David Aragona

                  RACE 5: CLOUD MUSIC (#6)

Given the $400k purchase price and strong pedigree, it’s obviously not a great sign that Excess Demand (#4) is debuting for a tag. His dam is the excellent racemare Dance to Bristol, who reeled off a 7-race winning streak in 2013, culminating in the Grade 1 Ballerina. She’s produced two foals to race, both winners, topped by Grade 3 Nashua winner Rockefeller. Chad Brown is 2 for 16 (13%, $1.14 ROI) with first time starters in maiden claiming dirt races over 5 years, so there are obviously some red flags here. He can win, but I thought others would offer better value. Nieuwendyk (#5) makes some sense, but he’s had his chances and I was more intrigued by a couple of fresher faces. I’m not sure what to do with Ghostryder (#2). Two of his three starts have been pretty ugly, but he did show signs of life two back at Churchill when facing auction-restricted maidens. He ranged up at the quarter pole like he might issue a serious challenge before failing to sustain that bid. He’s getting needed class relief, and returns as a new gelding with Lasix. Those changes could help this leggy son of Arrogate, though it’s fair to wonder if dirt is really the right surface for him. He moves more like a turf horse, and he’s a half-brother to G3-placed turfer Take Charge Ro. My top pick is Cloud Music (#6). This gelding was facing a much better field when he debuted here just 13 days ago at the maiden special weight level. He displayed excellent early speed, contesting the pace before coming under heavy pressure on the far turn. He was beaten a long way, but only finished 7 lengths out of third-place, earning a solid 85 TimeformUS Speed Figure. Trainer James Chapman doesn’t have much success with firsters, but he is a decent 18 for 87 (21%, $1.60 ROI) with maiden second time starters in dirt sprints over 5 years. With Cloud Computing as his sire, I’m optimistic about the stretch-out and the price should be fair.

                  RACE 7: SEAHORSE D’ORO (#6)

Save Grace (#2) had shown some promise for her prior connections, impressively breaking her maiden against claimers at Keeneland before putting in a game effort last time at Churchill when stepped up against winners. She’s now moving up in class to the starter allowance level, but isn’t catching the toughest field. The major question for her is the stretch-out, since she’s never raced beyond 7 furlongs. She’s bred to go this far and gives the impression she should handle it. Yet Mike Maker is just 5 for 32 (16%, $1.24 ROI) first off the claim going from sprints to routes on dirt over 5 years. I’m not against her, but I didn’t want to default to a favorite with things to prove. Sa Foradada (#1) seems like one of the main rivals as the stronger half of the JKX Racing entry. She’s settled for second in each of her starts on this circuit, but has arguably regressed since her first effort here in November. I want to go in a different direction. Seahorse d’Oro (#6)figures to get overlooked as she ships in from Parx. She’s a little light on speed figures compared to the two aforementioned runners, but she does appear to be heading in the right direction since getting claimed by Tyler Servis. She closed determinedly for third last time at a big price, beaten for the second time in a row by Princess Sophie, who was 5 for 9 at the time. This mare has run well on the circuit before and appears to building back up to another peak, on the heels of two improved workouts. Tyler Servis can win races on this circuit and usually sends live runners here. I also find it to be a good sign that she’s coming her to run in a protected spot, rather than offered up for a tag.

                  RACE 8: BABY MAN (#10)

I’m mildly skeptical of Glowsity (#1), who could vie for favoritism in this N1X allowance. She’s beat a fairly weak group of starter allowance foes last time in her first start on the circuit. She was a visually impressive winner by over 7 lengths, but she only earned a 99 TimeformUS Speed Figure, which makes just one of many contenders. I’m not sure she’s quite ready for this class test, though I am afraid of the connections. Among the favorites, I much prefer Spiked (#3). This filly may have found the 1 1/8 miles distance to be a bit too far for her last time. She took over in upper stretch and appeared to have the victory wrapped up before she got to drifting in the last furlong, which ultimately resulted in her disqualification. The slight turnback to a mile should suit her and she seems to be in strong form ever since John Terranova added blinkers two back. Suspended Campaign (#4) also makes some sense out of the Jan. 12 affair. She’s the one who got bumped by Spiked in deep stretch, forcing the inquiry. She wasn’t going to win that day, but she did seem to improve off the claim for Rudy Rodriguez. The one-turn mile figures to help her, as she generally does her best work when some pace develops up front. Pharoah’s Heart (#6) is another who could be running late, but she has to prove she can handle added ground. She tried route distances twice in California as a younger horse with mixed results. She ran well to be second to Crystal Ball in a two-turn mile race, but she was the beaten favorite. Her recent form leaves something to be desired, but it is worth noting that she got a poor trip two back at Churchill. I won’t be shocked if she improves here, though I have some reservations about her overall upside. My top pick is Baby Man (#10). She was soundly beaten by Spiked and Suspended Campaign last time, but 9 furlongs has always been too far for her. I like her turning back, and she has run some speed figures that make her competitive here. She’s also drawn well outside of some of her main pace rivals. Yet the most appealing thing about her is that she’s making her first start off the claim for Tom Morley. This barn is 20 for 112 (18%, $2.69 ROI) first off the claim in general, and Morley is 8 for 25 (32%, $3.69 ROI) off the claim for Flying P Stable. Jose Gomez knows this filly well and the addition of blinkers suggests that the plan is to use her speed.

Dubai Preview: Spot Plays for Feb. 24, 2023
                    Alastair Bull

Dubai takes a bit of a back seat this weekend in Middle East racing, with the Saudi Cup (G1) meeting taking prominence.

However, a Group 2 race and two valuable conditions races are on tap at Meydan on Friday. Here are some spot plays for those races.
Race 4, 10:45 a.m. ET: Jumeirah Fillies Guineas, turf, 1,600 meters (about one mile), 3yo fillies

Godolphin looks to hold the two strongest chances here. The best-performed is probably #7 Mawj, a Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed in England last year. However, she only just lasted to win here Jan. 27 in her first race past six furlongs, and a mile may well stretch her stamina.

I tend to favor the other Godolphin runner, #5 Fairy Cross. She hasn’t been seen since winning the Prestige S. (G3) over seven furlongs at Goodwood last August. We don’t know how she’s progressed, but it’s not an overly strong field, and Fairy Cross looks the likelier to stay a mile.

                    $10 win/$30 place: #5 Fairy Cross

                    Race 5, 11:20 a.m. ET: Balanchine S. (G2), turf, 1,800 meters (about 1 1/8 miles), 4yo and up, fillies and mares

Cape Verdi (G2) winner #1 With The Moonlight will be tough to beat here. Five horses she beat in the Cape Verdi are facing her again, but they all have to find at least 6 1/2 lengths, and it would be a surprise if any of them reversed that result.

The only horse that looks to have any chance of toppling With The Moonlight is her new stablemate #8 Tranquil Lady, previously trained by Joseph O’Brien. A dual Group 3 winner, she finished ahead of With The Moonlight in the Epsom Oaks (G1), though that was With The Moonlight’s worst performance to date, and her best form since has surpassed anything Tranquil Lady has achieved.

The odds on With The Moonlight won’t be great, so I’m going to go with exotics here.

                    $10 exacta: 1 with 8
                    $3 trifecta: 1 with 8 with all
                    $1 trifecta: 8 with 1 with all

                    Race 6, 11:55 a.m. ET: Jumeirah Derby, turf, 2,000 meters (about 1 1/4 miles), 3yos

Jumeirah Classic winner Naval Power isn’t backing up here, but the horses that finished the next six placings behind him that day return for this.

#6 One Nation made Naval Power work hard to win that day, and he will be well favored to get some compensation with victory here. However, he may find third-place finisher #3 Highbank a little tougher this time: Highbank missed the start and then made his move on the worst going on the inside of the track, and with a better start he is a real winning chance.

Of the horses that didn’t contest the Jumeirah Classic, the best chance looks to be #7 Sharar; he is on the improve and won impressively here Feb. 5. Jumeirah Classic fourth #4 Legend Of Cannes should be considered for exotics.

                    $10 win/$30 show: #3 Highbank
                    $1 trifecta: 3, 6 with 3, 6, 7 with 3, 4, 6, 7

Rocket Picks : Oaklawn Park, Gulfstream Park, and Aqueduct for February 24, 2023
                      By: Aaron Halterman

Let’s get another big Friday of racing kicked off today! For the free pick 4, we will head to Gulfstream Park for the Late Pick 4 on the card. We will also have full card selections for Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park for the paid Rockets, so be sure to check those out. Let’s GO!

Below is our free late Pick 4 for Gulfstream Park:

                      Gulfstream Park February 24, 2023

                      Race 6: Maiden Optional Claiming

#6 Soupersilverdollar has finished second in back to back races at this level, including losing by a nose last time out. #11 People Force has finished just behind our top choice in both of his starts so far over the turf. The stretch out in distance should help his chances.

                      Race 7: Claiming
                      freestar

#3 Man On the Moon goes for two in a row today winning last time out at this class level. He seems to enjoy running over the dirt as well. #5 Assertiko gets major class relief for this race today after running third against allowance runners last time out. This class drop should make him tough to beat.

                      Race 8: Allowance Optional Claiming

#4 Java Buzz was a close second last time out at this class level in his first race for Breen. He should take this field gate to wire today. #9 Freedom Matters gets Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard today, while also dropping down to the Florida bred company. That should help his chances.

                      Race 9: Claiming

#6 Mehlek gets big class relief today after back to back poor efforts against starter allowance horses. He fits much better at the low claiming level. #8 Ready On the Line goes for two in a row after breaking his maiden in gate to wire fashion. He should get a similar trip in this spot as well.

                      THE TICKET

                      $.50 Pick 4 (Races 6-9) 1,6,11,12 / 1,3,5 / 4,9 / 5,6,8 – $36

Busan Friday: Race-By-Race Preview (February 24)

The weekend’s racing gets underway at Busan on Friday with 9 races from 11:00 to 18:00. Here are the previews:

                        Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

Three-year-old maidens in the opener. (5) ROAD TO GLORY ran a fair 5th on debut over 1000M before coming back on January 27th at 1200M and settling right at the back of the field before finishing strongly for 2nd. He was well beaten by a good winner but it was a solid effort and with the slight step up in trip, he can be winning today. (7) RAON THE HARLEY has a 2nd and a 3rd from two outings to date, both at 1200M, the first time racing on pace the second in midfield and running on. In this company, he should be at the front early and is the main danger. (12) SPECIALIST has raced fairly enough in two outings to date and was an improved 5th in the most recent of them. He has the fastest final furlong time among these so the wide draw may not be a problem and he can continue to improve. (8) SKY SHOT and (10) SILK FASHION ROAD other potential improvers.
Selections (5) Road To Glory (7) Raon The Harley (12) Specialist (8) Sky Shot
                        Next Best 10, 3
                        Fast Start 2, 4, 7, 10

                        Busan Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 40 Million

A maiden restricted to three-year-old fillies with four of the twelve racing for the first time. We’ll go with (3) THEIA who has raced adequately for 5th and 6th in two prior appearances and has recorded the fastest time among those here who have already tackled this distance. In both of those she was drawn wide, but she comes into a much better gate here, and she can win. She will be disputing favourite status with (6) B.K. GALLOP. She’s been on pace in both outings so far and led until the final furlong on her second start on January 27th, ultimately finishing 3rd ahead of a couple of today’s rivals. She will be on pace again and will surely be in this a very long way. (9) GIJEOGUI GEUMBIT was 4th in that same race. She has two-lengths to find on B.K. Gallop but she improved from her debut and can improve again here. (10) DYMANIC WINNER and (11) GREEN LEGEND are others who should have some natural improvement from their respective debuts.
                        Selections (3) Theia (6) B.K. Gallop (9) Gijeogui Geumbit (10) Dynamic Winner
                        Next Best 11, 4
                        Fast Start 2, 4, 6, 9

                        Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million

A regular maiden here and the form isn’t great with the twelve of them having thirty-two prior starts between them but not a single top-three finish. (11) SAEKDAL FIGHTER does have a couple of 4th places, recorded at this distance and at 1300M in back-to-back starts in December and January. His times have been fair, including on his latest when tried over 1400M two weeks ago and he has as good a chance as any here. (10) AQUA MAGIC also has a brace of 4th places. They were both over this distance and she also has the fastest time of any of these for the 1200M. She likes to race handy so may need some luck from the wide draw, but she should have a big say here. (1) GANGSEO JEORYEONG raced once without distinction last autumn. She re-qualified at the beginning of this month and then went through a second voluntary trial two weeks ago when he stopped the clock in a very encouraging time. He draws nicely and could be much better this time around. (8) WORLD POINT and (5) WONDERFUL CHACHA the others who have hinted at ability
Selections (11) Saekdal Fighter (10) Aqua Magic (1) Gangseo Jeoryeong (8) World Point
                        Next Best 5, 7
                        Fast Start 1, 3, 10, 11

                        Busan Race 4: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

                        (3) HANGANG SAVER is the one to beat here. His win came at this distance three starts back when making all and he enters having run a good 4th in a fast time at this class on January 13th. From a nice draw he can get an early lead and he may take some getting past. (11) MY MANTRA was an all the way winner on January 29th having previously run 2nd. She comes up in class here and while she draws a touch wide for comfort, her early speed can see her to a good position and she has every chance of measuring up at this level. The wildcard is (2) CUTE GUY. He raced three times between March and June last year finishing no worse than 4th and secured a class 6 win over 1400M. He has been out for seven months but looked well when trialling up at the end of January and a bold first-up showing is possible. (1) JEONGMUN COBIT needs a line drawn through his latest in December but has placed at class and distance and can be given another chance here. (5) CHEONHA NUMBER ONE another in the placing frame.
Selections (3) Hangang Saver (11) My Mantra (2) Cute Guy (1) Jeongmun Cobit
                        Next Best 5, 10
                        Fast Start 2, 3, 9, 11

                        Busan Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Tricky race. (10) TAP STAR returned from almost six months out to run 3rd in a fast race over 1200M on January 13th. He should have derived benefit from that run and he doesn’t need to lead so the wide draw shouldn’t be a problem. This is his first time tackling 1400M but Seo Seung-un remains aboard and he has every chance. (1) SPECIAL HERO enters off a very close 4th place in what was a tight finish over 1300M at this class on February 3rd. That was an uptick on her recent form but she draws the same good gate today and continues under a light weight. Speaking of light weights, an apprentice claim enables (2) RUBY STORM to come down a full 5kg from his latest effort, which was an unsuccessful tilt at 1800M on January 27th when weakening in the straight. Prior to that he recorded back-to-back 3rd places over this trip and today should be much more to his liking. (7) CHEONMA HASEO has won just once in thirty-eight starts but he knows how to pick up a cheque at this level and will be running on late. (8) DOCTOR PENTAGON among plenty of others capable of challenging for minor money.
Selections (10) Tap Star (1) Special Hero (2) Ruby Storm (7) Cheonma Haseo
                        Next Best 8, 12
                        Fast Start 1, 2, 5, 12

Anything could win this. (4) ARTHUR KING IJI is actually yet to win, but comes up in class following some near misses, most recently over this distance when leading on February 3rd. He draws nicely to be on pace again and despite the class rise, he looks a winning chance here. (12) BARAMBARAM was an also-ran in the Breeders’ Cup Champion Juvenile race last December and comes in having run 5th of twelve on his latest start which was his first at a mile. The time was fair, and his racing style means the wide draw shouldn’t be an issue. The trainer/jockey combination may mean he starts as favourite. His stablemate (7) WONDERFUL FILE hinted at a return to form when 5th over 1800M last time out. She looks nicely in here and could offer some value at a probable each-way price. (11) ADELE ALLIE’S and (9) ROCK AND ROLL among others in the frame.
Selections (4) Arthur King Iji (12) Barambaram (7) Wonderful File (11) Adele Allie’s
                        Next Best 9, 1
                        Fast Start 1, 4, 9, 10

                        Busan Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Another very competitive race. (5) MAHAMERU comes up in class on the back of two consecutive runner-up finishes, both times behind decent winners and both times at this distance. He likes to settle back and run on and under a light weight once more, there is little to fear in this company. (12) CATCH THE SKY won’t mind the widest draw. He has a strong finish on him and comes back in trip after recent mixed performances over 1800M. He has a fast time on his record over the mile and he comes down in the weights today. (1) UNJU HERO comes back down in class following an unsuccessful shy at the class 2 stumps. While that means coming back up in weight, Seo Seung-un returns and he should be a big player here. (6) RAON THE FIGHTING and (9) SEONGSIL SIHWA among others to keep safe.
Selections (5) Mahameru (12) Catch The Sky (1) Unju Hero (6) Raon The Fighting
                        Next Best 9, 10
                        Fast Start 2, 4, 7, 10

                        Busan Race 8: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

                        (4) STAR MATTA will be a warm favourite here. He was a class and distance winner two starts back in a very fast time when on pace throughout before showing his versatility by settling back from a wide draw on February 5th and running 3rd, again at class and distance. On both occasions he beat plenty of todays rivals and with an apprentice claiming 4kg, he is very much the one to beat here. (2) HORAENGI is becoming a notorious non-winner but he has finished in the top-four on no fewer than thirteen of his sixteen starts. That win may prove elusive once more but he has beaten a few of these in recent outings and another placing seems likely. (10) HAPPY JAZZ comes up in class after a good win over this distance on January 27th . She is nicely weighted here and aside from the favourite two, there is little to fear here. Form drops off precipitously after those three with (7) ADELE BOSS and (12) ALL CROWN perhaps the next best.
Selections (4) Star Matta (2) Horaengi (10) Happy Jazz (7) Adele Boss
                        Next Best 12, 3
                        Fast Start 2, 3, 9, 10

                        Busan Race 9: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

                        Report this ad

Another competitive race to conclude the card. (7) GLORY KING hasn’t won since he was a three-year-old, missing the first half of last year and coming through class 4 without a win but with a number of near-misses. Those near misses continued on his first try at this class on January 13th when overcoming a wide draw to race handy and only be very narrowly beaten into 2nd. A similar run here may well see him home on top. It’s been a long time between drinks too for (1) ONE PICK. With an apprentice claim he is down 3kg on his last start 3rd place over 1400M and while his style is to settle back and run on, from the inside gate he may be a little closer today and should a threat at the business end of the race. (8) YEONGGWANGUILEGEND had a poor day at the office last time out and is worth another chance here. (10) GOOD TANK impressed in a trial two weeks ago and if he brings that form to the races, can be considered. (5) HWARANG BEST, who beat both One Pick and Yeonggwanguilegend on January 29th comes up 2kg in the weights but warrants respect.
Selections (7) Glory King (1) One Pick (8) Yeonggwanguilegend (10) Good Tank
                        Next Best 5, 12

Oaklawn Park: Key Horses for Friday, February 24

The Ductor needs to get back to capping every day, but man it is hard with the state of winter racing. The Ductor wants to save you horse racing, but other than Saturdays, these cards stink. He needs quality turf racing back like he needs air to breathe. The Ductor’s attention has turned to Oaklawn this week with the Rebel this weekend. The late pick 5 Friday is an interesting sequence, it has a chance to pay. Skip.
Oaklawn Park Race 5: 6 Furlongs. Clm 16000

#9 Espionage (8/1) – This race is wide open and looks like a good spot to get a price. This colt won in a very similar scenario in his season debut at Oaklawn last year. He draws a nice outside post and has early speed in a sprint without much early pace. He can keep a close eye on his inside opposition and pounce.

#5 Big Nick (15/1) – This morning line can’t be accurate. However, he will still be a good price and he has the best early pace figures in the field. This gelding dueled on the inside last time an faltered against a much tougher group. In his race two back, he lost by a neck at this level. It could be argued that the slop moved him up that day, but he’s run similar numbers on a fast dirt track and it could have been the barn switch. The Ductor sees him carrying his speed a lot longer today.
                          Oaklawn Park Race 6: 6 Furlongs. F.MC 12500

#5 Bidofhoney (3/1) – This is a terrible field and this filly is working well for Hartman who is a ridiculous 34% at the meet. 45/65 of his runners have hit the board….nothing to see here. Unfortunately for horseplayers, sometimes if you can’t beat them, join them.
                          Oaklawn Park Race 7: 1 Mile. F.Clm 25000b

*Gullet Shot of the Day #4 Black Kat Taps (12/1) – Another race to go price shopping, this mare is sneaky stretching out in her 3rd start off the layoff. Throw out her last race in the slop and her numbers fit with this group. She gets major class relief today and her best races come at this distance. She’s be taking on her weakest field in over a year.

                          Oaklawn Park Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. Alw 104000n2L

#2 Film Star (3/1) – This colt’s work tab for Cox suggests he’s going to run off the screen. With his lone win coming in he slop the Ductor would normally be against this colt at a short price. However, there isn’t a ton to like in here as alternatives. #3 Summer in Malibu (8/1) and #1 Mahammel (5/2) are the logiacal alternatives.
                          Oaklawn Park Race 9: 1 Mile. F.Mdn 90k

#3 Star of Tomorrow (20/1) – This filly has a very interesting work tab with a series of slow works followed by a bullet going 5 furlongs. The Ductor likes the look of it and she’s well meant with a 120k purchase price and the top rider aboard. The Ingrid Mason barn is 3% for the meet and that should steer the public away. She hasn’t had a 1st time starter win lately, but she’s 12% for her career. The Ductor has that feeling in his right knee that she’ll be his star today.

#2 Stellar Lily (2/1) – She’s the logical favorite and has an early pace edge over this group in her first time stretching out. Gate to wire would be no surprise.
