#1 – Heir Apparent @ $5.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Heir Apparent has had only two placings from nine career starts but the four-year-old could show his best on Tuesday.

The son of Cable Bay finished fourth at Port Macquarie two back before running a solid fifth last start at Grafton.

It’s solid form and punters get each-way odds for the aptly-named runner.
Race 4. (15:20) Leading Trainer K Lees C2 (1007m)

#2 – Paradise Island @ $3.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Paradise Island is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Beaumont and Coffs Harbour.

The Kris Lees-trained runner could win in his honour and we think she’s going to be tough to beat in a fresh-up state.

She owns pace and the inside draw is ideal.
Race 5. (15:55) Kennards Hire Taree C3 Handicap (1412m)

#3 – Prince Akeem @ $3.30 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Todd Howlett-trained has been up for a while but the five-year-old gelding should be tough to hold out.

He won earlier this preparation at Warren and his most recent placing at Muswellbrook bodes well against this level of opposition.

Drawing well and carrying 55.5kg could be enough.
Race 6. (16:35) Leading Jockey A Morgan C2 (1614m)

#2 – Millennium Jewel @ $3 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Millennium Jewel does her best racing at Taree with three starts for a win and a placing.

The five-year-old comes off a second placing on the track as a $13 chance, and we’re not surprised by the shorter odds available.

Getting 1.5kg off her back helps and her odds could continue to shorten on race day.

Fiorente Spritz is getting close to posting a win this season after three tidy efforts.

The current $3 favourite ran third at Warracknabeal last start and a slight improvement on that run should see her winning.

Most of the money has come for her and getting the inside draw helps.

Summit Queen comes off back-to-back placings and the four-year-old mare meets an even field.

The Lindsay Smith-trained daughter of Deep Field has been consistent throughout her career and her only win came at Hamilton.

The deep track conditions shouldn’t be much of a problem.

CLASSIC KING - Can't overlook the connections here, a 23 winning percentage, one of the strongest at getting into the winner's circle. With a strong 75 average speed rating at the distance, seems well suited for today's race.

Reviewing her handicapping information, I see she was close at the end, within five of the winner. Going on Lasix for the first time. While a conventional handicapping angle, it's still quite useful when separating your contenders. ALWAYZ LATE - In this race here, this horse has registered the highest speed rating at the distance, so I have to give her the edge. MADRILENA (ARG) - Jockey jumped on this mare's back for the first attempt on July 9th. Should be in tune with the equine even better today. Corrales's agent must like anytime Lobo gives them a mount; win percent together is fantastic. Expect better today as this filly gets Lasix for the 2nd time.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 ARROBATIC (ML=7/2), #9 SIGNIFY (ML=4/1), #10 SHES BOUT A MOVER (ML=6/1),

ARROBATIC - 7/2 is not worth it for any entrant in a sprint of 6 1/2 furlongs that hasn't hit the board in a short distance race lately. Hard to bet this one after not being up front at 1 mile and now being entered in a race of 6 1/2 furlongs. Probably hasn't had enough racing experience to beat the 'grizzled' veterans today. SIGNIFY - In any race of 6 1/2 furlongs, I like to support a contender that has been looking good in sprint races lately. The result of eighth in the last race shows me that this horse may be tailing off. When examining today's class rating, she will have to notch a much better speed rating than last race out to compete in this turf sprint. SHES BOUT A MOVER - Any rating attained on the soft turf must be taken with a grain of salt.
