              Play: 1H Total Under 5.0 (-105)

Carpenter has allowed one run in his last 3 starts and Franco is not great but this is Hanwha's first time seeing him and Hanwha has the worst lineup in the league. All signs point to the under. Even the first half team totals add up to 4 not 5. For this number the 1st5 Under 5 is a nice bet for 2%.

Jokisch takes on Cuevas and if you just look at the ERAs against you would think this will go way over. But the numbers are a bit misleading because early in the season Cuevas got blown up for 10 runs vs KT. Since then he had a start against them holding them to 1 run in 7. Jokisch has been great vs KT and has allowed only 5 runs his last three starts. 4.5 seems high my numbers have it at 4.1. Make a small play on the 1st 5 Under 4.5.

This is a case of the good pitcher vs good lineup, and bad pitcher vs bad lineup. Casey Kelly has been great and is onw of the best in Korea. He faces the "1 lineup in NC but they are no so great lately. Song Myun Gi is average, but he does have a decent k:BB ratio and LG with the second worst lineup in the league has not faced him yet. My numbers have this at 4.2 so make a small play on the 1st5 Under 4.5.

              Play: Samsung Lions -165

These are two pretty bad SPs but Samsung has a slight advantage. Going on career numbers I have Choi ranked 36 of 92 and Kia's Kim ranked 86. With an SP, bullpen and lineup advantage this is a 3% play on the money line. If Samsung has a better bullpen I would lay 1.5 but neither the bullpen nor lineup are that good and Samsung has not faced Kim yet so the first 5 might be tight. Take Samsung money line anything -170 or better.

Matsumoto has been very shaky and has allowed 7 runs in his last 3 starts. Rakuten has a good lineup and usually hit Matsumoto well. I think 1.5 is way too low for the power hitters of Rakuten. Take the 1st 5 Over 1.5.

Yamamoto has allowed 1 run in his last 4 starts. He has allowed 0 runs to SoftBank in his last 2 starts against them for a total of 16 zero run innings. Can they score 2 against him in 5 innings? I would say no. This line is crazy anywhere from -160 to -120. Take it 160 or better.

Time: 4:45 AM EDT First 5 innings Draw
              Analysis:
This is abet that the 1st 5 innings end in a tie. Chunichi has Ohno on the mound who is one of the best in the league while Yokohama pitcher Kyoyama is not very good, he faces the worst lineup in baseball and has only allowed 2 or less runs his last three starts. This looks like a stuck in the mud game and at this price a 1% shot is worth it.

                    NORTH CAROLINA -5.5
ANALYSIS: I hate to use 2020 as any kind of barometer, but because Virginia Tech has so many returning starters on both sides of the ball, I’m going to. The Hokies failed to cover both games in which they were underdogs and also lost as favorites on four occasions. North Carolina returns its entire offensive line, as well as a Heisman Trophy favorite in QB Sam Howell. Without Clemson being on the schedule, this is the toughest game for the Tar Heels until they visit Notre Dame on Oct. 30 and NC State in the season finale. Take North Carolina and lay the points.

                    MICHIGAN ST. +3
ANALYSIS: Give the big check in the coaching edge to Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald over Mel Tucker, but the wrong team is favored here. The Spartans went only 2-5 last season, but one of the wins was against Northwestern, which won and covered seven of its nine. Most of the Northwestern players from a defense that allowed only 15.9 points per game are gone, and just four starters on offense return. Michigan State brings back almost everyone. The Spartans have the cohesion, chemistry and an experience edge. Spartans to cover.

                      L.A. DODGERS -115
ANALYSIS: First place in the NL West on the line -- the Dodgers come in with a full bullpen after being off Thursday, while the Giants aren't hitting and were lucky to avoid a four-game home sweep at the hands of the Brewers on Thursday. Arguably San Francisco's best reliever, Tyler Rogers (1.80 ERA), has pitched in the past two games and thus likely won't be available. Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani is 0-3 with a 9.43 ERA in five starts against the Dodgers this year. I don't love LA starter David Price, but getting that loaded lineup at just -115 against anyone is a must-play. I expect this ML to jump in the morning.

                      COLORADO +1.5
ANALYSIS: Won yet again on the Rockies RL on Thursday, and I see no reason to stop Friday at -120. Their pitcher Thursday, Chi Chi Gonzalez, is one of the NL's worst (probably why they lost 6-5), but Friday's starter Antonio Senzatela has always been better in Denver (3.89 ERA this year) and has a 2.93 ERA in five starts overall since coming off the injured list. Atlanta's Huascar Ynoa is a fine young pitcher, but this will be his first time at Coors Field. It's a totally different experience. I'm going to take the Rox +1.5 at home pretty much always when they are -120 or better.
