Out of all European leagues, you would be hard pressed to find a team playing better than Man City right now. They look amazing. They are coming in off a 3-0 beatdown of Tottenham this past weekend in a game that was never in doubt. Even without the best midfielder on the planet in Kevin De Bruyne, Man City has now rallied off 16 straight wins and are unbeaten since November 21, a run of 23 straight games without a loss.
During their 16 game run, they have allowed a total of just 5 goals, never more than one, and have kept 11 clean sheets. Their run includes multiple goal wins over Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Tottenham, simply proving their dominance over the best teams in the league.
They have the best xG differential in Europe and lead the Premier League with a +1.41 xG differential per game, nearly double the next best team in the league which is Chelsea at +0.73.
Everton, after a hot start to the season have really been tumbling as of late. They have just two wins in their last seven league games including inexcusably losing at home 0-2 on Sunday to Fulham. They also have losses to Newcastle twice this season, Southampton and Leeds. More telling, their xG numbers are not attractive with a -0.07 differential per game and have lost five straight games to Man City.

Rough end to their just completed 4 game road swing, as Philadelphia lost their final 3 games at Portland, Phoenix and Utah and also lost the services of big man Joel Embiid to recurring back spasms on Monday at Utah in their 134-123 setback.

Embiid has been upgraded to probable for tonight's game, while key reserve Shake Milton is out with an ankle injury, but Philly is back at home for this one where they are 11-2 straight up and 9-4 against the spread thus far this year.

As for Houston, they are in even rougher straits as far as injuries go, as Victor Oladipo, Christian Wood, Eric Gordon and P.J. Tucker are all out with injuries and the Rockets bring in a 6 game straight up and against the spread losing streak for this showdown with Philly.

This will be the first meeting between the teams since last August when they played in the Orlando bubble and the Sixers demolished the Rockets, 134-96.

It may not be a 38 point destruction tonight, but I say Philly gets back on track with a comfortable home win and cover.

The Boston Celtics have a problem! The C's enter this home game with Atlanta off a much-needed victory last night at home against Denver.

Even with that win, Brad Stevens' team has lost 2 of their last 3 and 4 of their last 6 overall. An uneven offense has been an issue, as the Celtics are only averaging 98 points per game in those 4 losses.

They were able to score 112 points last night, but I have a feeling they may be able to rediscover their AWOL offense as they play host to the yielding Hawks.

Atlanta comes into this game having given up at least 118 points in each of their last 5 games. All 5 of those game have played Over the total, as the Hawks are now on a 6-1 Over run their last 7 games played, while the Celtics have landed Over in 4 of their last 7 games played.

This will be the first meeting of year between the teams and 6 of the last 10 in this rivalry have played Over the total.

With the Hawks eschewing defense lately, expect the Celtics offense to get back on track in this spot tonight.

I back A P'S BLUEGRASS here. With Doyle controlling the reins on him, this horse will almost certainly be able to break out sharply in here. Should be considered in this contest if only for the very strong speed figure posted in the last contest. This horse obviously likes the distance, going 4 for 19 in his races lately. FLASH FORCAST - He has been travelling very well as of late while recording very solid speed figures. Gustafson has a strong 24 percent win rate with entries running at this distance and surface. STARSHIP ZEUS - Diodoro has this gelding running well and is a strong selection based on the competitive Equibase Speed Figures earned in route races as of late. He should be given a shot given the strong speed numbers.

The set-up: The Leafs blew a 5-1 lead to Ottawa and lost 6-5 last time out. It was a huge upset obviously, but I expect things to "return to normal" here and I look for Toronto to only win this revenge game, but to win by a sizeable margin. Ottawa is by far the worst defensive team in the league, giving up four 4.0 GPG.
The pick: Toronto lost a tight 2-1 game vs. the Habs previous to its meltdown against Ottawa, but I don't think it's time to hit the panic button yet if you're a Leafs fan. Losses like this will of course happen over the course of a long regular season, but here's a perfect spot to back the much better Leafs in this bounce-back position. Consider laying the 1.5 goals for the much better price.

We cashed in an easy winner on the Celtics last night, as they downed the Nuggets 112-99 as a mere 2-point home favorite. I really thought we were getting some great value with Boston in that matchup, due to the fact that the Celtics had lost 4 of 5 and were off two ugly losses as favorites to the Pistons and Wizards.
I see the same value here with Boston as a mere 3-point home favorite against a Hawks team that is playing some of its worse basketball of the season. Atlanta has lost 4 straight and 7 of 8 overall. Because they have a great starting PG in Trae Young, I don't think people realize just how much its hurting this team that both backup PGs, Rajon Rondo and Kris Dunn, are out with injuries. They are also down two other huge pieces in De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic.
Not to mention this Hawks team does themselves no favors with the effort they give on the defensive side of the ball. Atlanta is giving up 122.4 ppg over their last 5 games. I think it makes it so much easier here on Boston playing on no rest against a team that doesn't defend.
Also, Hawks are not a team that tends to find themselves on the road when things aren't going well. Atlanta is a mere 8-19 ATS in their last 27 road games off a loss and are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 on the road when they come in having lost 5/6 of their last 7 games. Give me the Celtics -3!

I cashed in the Celtics last night as my top play on the premium side. And I'm back on them again today as a free pick for many of the same reasons. It's a good time to 'buy low' on the Celtics after a recent poor stretch that saw them lose four of their previous five games.
But the Celtics came back and beat the Nuggets 112-99 as 2-point favorites last night. And while they will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back, only one player played more than 32 minutes last night and that was Jaylen Brown. So they should still be pretty fresh, especially with no travel involved.
Now the Celtics host a struggling Atlanta Hawks team that is 1-7 SU & 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. That includes three straight double-digit losses to the Spurs, Pacers and Knicks. So it's not like they are losing due to a tough schedule.
Boston simply owns Atlanta, going 7-0 SU in the last seven meetings with all seven wins coming by 3 points or more. The Celtics have also won 10 of the last 11 meetings in this series. Boston is 7-2 ATS in its last nine games as a home favorite. The Celtics are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games when playing on zero rest. Bet the Celtics Wednesday.

Minnesota PG Carr (19.4-0.1-5.2) ranks with the best in the nation and has been aided by THREE transfers, 7-0 Liam Robbins (12.6 & 7.1) from Drake, the 6-6 Gach (7.8 & 4.2) from Utah and the 6-8 Johnson (8.7 & 6.4) from Western Michigan. Plus, don't dismiss returning junior guard Kalescheur, who's adding 9.2 PPG, or freshman guard Mashburn (6.1 PPG). Of concern lately has been center Robbins (ankle) and guard Gach (foot) being limited by injury.
Gone from last year's Indiana team are Devontae Green (13.5 & 8.4) who graduated and the 6-7 Justin Smith (10.4 & 5.2), who transferred to Arkansas. This year's team is led by the 6-9 Jackson-Davis (19.6 & 9.4) and the 6-8 Thompson (9.9 & 6.5) up front plus in the backcourt, it's sophomore Franklin (12.2 & 4.7), senior Durham (11.2)) and junior Phinisee (7.3).
The Hoosiers are just 5-4 at home this season but Minnesota is 0-7 away from their Williams Arena home, with SIX of those losses coming by double-digits! Enough said. Lay the points.
