COACH CASEY - Trainer, Casey, has been deliberate with this gelding off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. Finished out of the money last out at Charles Town, but was within five lengths of the winner. Opening at 4/1 makes me think he's got a chance. STERLING GENERAL - Brown brings him back again. I propose you stay with this hot gelding. This horse probably isn't going to sit chilly. He should bust out of the gate and be one of the first to hit that tight turn. Watch for him in the stretch. BE BACK - Figgins brings him right back. I recommend you stay with this hot gelding. COU ROUGE - I'm counting on this horse to run a good one in today's event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #2 COBRA KID (ML=6/1),

COBRA KID - Not probable that this questionable contender will be at his best this time out off the extended time off. Maybe next time. Pace makes the race. Hard for this speedy one to be able to handle the early pressure from the rest of this bunch. Finished first in his most recent performance with a run-of-the-mill speed figure. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to prove victorious after that in this bunch.

Will almost certainly compete soundly in the pace contest which bodes well with this group. With a formidable 91 Equibase speed fig last time out, will clearly be a factor in this contest. BALLERINA HEADLINE - Ought to be carefully examined here on the basis of the figures in the speed section alone. Strong jock with trainer figs make this horse a sharp betting selection. HANDFUL OF PEARLS - Appears to have a formidable class edge based on the most recent company kept.

DARAY - Sub-par try last time out at Laurel was due to the off-going (she finished sixth). Have to give a better effort right here on a non-sloppy track. Hamilton's agent must look forward to anytime McMahon gives them a mount; winning percent together is terrific. Dropping 7 pounds from last race. Could be a deciding factor today. GIVEN ACHANCE - Jockey hops back up atop after getting to know the mount by riding last time out. That's always a green light. Have to give this filly a shot. Ran a solid effort in the last race within the last month. Is ranked at the top in earnings per race. A powerful effort right here can increase that bankroll. BELLA BRANDI M - Entered a $16,000 Maiden Claiming race at Laurel last race out and raced on a track listed as good finishing 12th. I'd expect a better race in this event. Adding blinkers occasionally leads to improvement on the racetrack. STICKSANDBRICKS - Don't often see a favorable ROI like +151. This rider/trainer duo has done well together over the last year. That recent bullet 35.4 work shows that this filly is ready for a top performance today. I like that this first-timer has been working over the Laurel oval and makes her debut here today.

Vulnerable Contenders: #12 JANES BREW (ML=9/2), #11 GRACIES BANDIT (ML=6/1), #5 OH SO LOVELY (ML=6/1),

JANES BREW - Tough to play this racer this time around. Make her show you something in a short distance race before you play her in a race of 5 1/2 furlongs. Garnered a common rating in the last race in a $16,000 Maiden Claiming race on December 26th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that fig. GRACIES BANDIT - Last raced on Sep 1st at Timonium, finishing fifth. Not likely to get better off of that try in today's race. When examining today's class rating, she will have to record a better speed figure than last time around the track to be competitive in this dirt sprint. OH SO LOVELY - Didn't end up on the board on February 9th at Laurel. Followed it up with another less than stellar outing. Today's affair is 5 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't finished in the money in a short distance affair in the last couple months. Not the greatest of signs. Doubtful that the speed figure she earned on Feb 25th will be enough in this affair.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - STICKSANDBRICKS - Farrior is giving Lasix to this animal. A solid chance of improvement should be expected.
