I've got to go with DOCS PYC. He has been racing soundly recently while recording strong Equibase Speed Figures. With a very strong 70 speed figure last time out, will definitely be a factor in this race. The average Equibase class figure of 64 makes this entrant hard to beat. BLU JEANS - Had one of the strongest speed figures of this group of horses in this race in his last race. This gelding looks good in this competition since Trejo has a strong win percentage with horses going this distance.

FIREY CHILD - No need to look any further. This racer has my cash. Way too much pace. Filly is a few starts into a come back here. Should give a nice effort today. This horse is in the top spot in earnings per race. She looks sharp in today's event.

WISE TRADE - This filly registered a speed rating in her last event which probably isn't good enough in today's race. QUICK CHILL - Earned a substandard speed figure in the last race in a $10,000 Maiden Claiming race on Dec 30th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that fig. TIMELY PLEASURE - Doesn't seem inspiring to me after the lack of any sort of closing talent on December 30th.

JOMELO - In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class rating in the field. Ranked at the very top in earnings per start. Another indicator that this horse is classy. JAM N ADDY - This gelding is very familiar with the winner's circle at Turf Paradise. I expect a repeat visit right here. Strong win percentage this jockey and conditioner twosome have been putting together. Have to give this magnificent animal a long hard look. In recent races, has posted the best speed figures on the turf at this distance. I like the piece of information that this gelding's last speed rating, 96, is tops in this group. TRIBAL MONEY - Taking this jockey/trainer combination is a smart choice.

Hasn't been near the track since then though. Not a positive sign. Unlikely that the speed figure he notched on Dec 12th will be good enough in this event. STRATTON - Will be tough for this thoroughbred to beat this field off of that last speed fig. Unlikely to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class rating, so put him on the questionable contenders list.
