Pro Bowl: NFC +1 (Top opin, marq double) -
NFL Pro Bowl: What bettors need to know
AFC vs. NFC (+1.5, 80)
Betting the Pro Bowl can be tricky. You never know who is going to play and for how long. One thing we do know is that defenses are hardly a factor in the Pro Bowl, as evidenced by the opening 84-point total, so we decided to break down the key offensive positions in an attempt to find a betting edge.
Quarterbacks
AFC- Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Matt Schaub
The AFC was hoping to have the Patriots’ Tom Brady to round out its QB carousel, but he won’t participate because of injury. Each of the AFC QBs has brought their favorite targets with them to Hawaii. Demaryius Thomas, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels should have excellent chemistry with their club QBs and that could make a difference in the game.
NFC – Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Russell Wilson
The NFC quarterbacks in this year’s game were supposed to be a completely different trio, but Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Robert Griffin III are all dealing with injuries. That being said, the NFC still boasts an elite crop of QBs led by Drew Brees. But only Manning (Victor Cruz) will be throwing to a target he’s accustomed to.
Edge: AFC
Running Backs
AFC – Arian Foster, Jamaal Charles, C.J. Spiller
The AFC can’t hold a candle to the elite crop of RBs the NFC is bringing to the table. Some would argue that Foster is the only back of this trio deserving of playing in the game.
NFC – Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch, Doug Martin
You’d be hard-pressed to find a better running trio in the NFL. Peterson nearly broke the single-season rushing record, Lynch rushed for over 1,500 yards and Martin shocked the football world with a breakout season as a rookie.
Edge: NFC
Receivers
AFC – A.J. Green, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Demaryius Thomas, Owen Daniels
As mentioned above, the AFC receiving corps will have familiarity with their team quarterbacks. Wayne and Thomas are used to snatching darts from Manning, while Daniels and Johnson already have excellent chemistry with Matt Schaub.
NFC – Julio Jones, Victor Cruz, Larry Fitzgerald, Vincent Jackson, Jason Witten
The NFC receiving group was supposed to be led by Calvin Johnson, but Megatron isn’t healthy enough to play after his record-setting campaign. Larry Fitzgerald is subbing in despite only having 798 receiving yards and four TDs this season.
Edge: AFC
Betting trends:
*The AFC posted a wild 59-41 victory over the NFC in the Pro Bowl last year.
*The AFC has won two of the last three Pro Bowls and holds a 15-12 all-time series lead.
*The NFC is 3-2 ATS in the last five Pro Bowls and the last three have played over the total.
Oddsmakers take (Courtesy of BetDSI.com)
"In a game that most people think should not be played, the Pro Bowl does offer betters a warmup before the Super Bowl next Sunday. So far this game has seen some sharp money hit the AFC at plus money and the line eventually flipped for this exhibition matchup between the two conferences. The total always gets a lot of public attention similar to the NBA All-Star Game. That public attention pushed the line a bit upward where it saw some buyback with sharp money hitting the under once it reached the 85 mark."Comment

Australian Open: Rested Djokovic a fave over Murray in the final
By JAYPRIMETOWN
Andy Murray (+170) vs. Novak Djokovic (-185)
For the second straight major, Serbia's Novak Djokovic takes on Andy Murray in the final. At the U.S. Open, Murray got his breakthrough defeating the world's top player in a classic five-set victory.
These two players faced each other seven times in 2012, with Djokovic winning four of those matches. Both players received a scare on their way to the final. Djokovic had to go deep into the fifth set in the Round of 16 before ousting Stan Wawrinka. Meanwhile, Murray defeated Roger Federer in five sets in the semifinal.
Due to the structuring of the schedule, Djokovic has an extra day off prior to the final. Both players are on excellent form, so expect this one to go into the night where fatigue could potentially become an issue.
Djokovic is going for this third consecutive Australian Open championship and has beaten Andy Murray in each of the last two years on his way to the title. Can Murray write a different script this year?Comment

NBA on ABC: Heat at Celtics, Thunder at Lakers
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics (+3.5, 188)
The Boston Celtics are heading toward oblivion and their next opponent could speed up their journey. The skidding Celtics will attempt to avoid a seventh consecutive loss when they host the Miami Heat and ex-teammate Ray Allen in a Sunday matinee. Boston saw its losing streak reach six games in stunning fashion, blowing a 27-point lead in Atlanta and falling in double overtime to the Hawks on Friday night. The skid, coming on the heels of a six-game winning streak, dropped the Celtics three games below .500.
Miami, which owns the best record in the Eastern Conference, has ripped off four straight victories after steamrolling the Detroit Pistons 110-88 on Friday night. The Heat have been rather ordinary away from home with a 10-9 record, but they won their last two road games in impression fashion by knocking off Golden State and the Los Angeles Lakers on back-to-back nights. Boston is the first stop of a four-game road trip for Miami, which will have played 10 of 12 games away from home when it's over.
TV: 1 p.m., ABC
CONSENSUS: 66 percent of Covers Consensus plays are on Miami while 43 percent are on the under.
ABOUT THE HEAT (28-12, 20-20-0 ATS): Allen played a pivotal role in Boston's run to a championship in 2008, but the sight of him in a Miami uniform has to be galling for Celtics fans - particularly after he turned down a more lucrative offer from Boston to sign with the Heat in the offseason. Content to be a role player with Miami, Allen is averaging 11.4 points and shooting 44.6 percent from behind the arc. He told the Sun-Sentinel of South Florida he doesn't know what kind of greeting to expect. "I have great memories. ... I'll always cherish those moments," he said. "Regardless of how they respond to me, it won't change how I feel."
ABOUT THE CELTICS (20-23, 14-26-3 ATS): Guard Avery Bradley may feel a little extra pressure due to Allen's return. He replaced Allen in Boston's starting lineup last season, leading to speculation that was among the reasons Allen's opted to take his shooting talents to South Beach. Known as one of the league's better on-ball defenders, Bradley has his second-highest output with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting against Atlanta. It was only the third time in 12 games that Bradley scored in double figures. He missed the first two months while recuperating from two shoulder surgeries.
TRENDS:
* Over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings.
* Under is 19-8-1 in the last 28 meetings in Boston.
* Home team is 16-7 ATS in the last 23 meetings.
* Heat are 2-10 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Boston.
BUZZER BEATERS:
1. Miami beat the Celtics in seven games in the Eastern Conference finals last season, winning Game 6 in Boston behind 45 points from LeBron James.
2. Celtics PG Rajon Rondo is coming off back-to-back triple-doubles for Boston, which last lost six straight from April 4-15, 2007.
3. Allen, the NBA's career 3-point leader, scored 19 points in a 120-107 season-opening win over Boston.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers (+3, 207)
The Los Angeles Lakers finally squeezed out a win on Friday to snap a four-game slide. If they want to make it back-to-back triumphs, the host Lakers will have to figure out a way around the NBA-best Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. Los Angeles found a formula against the Utah Jazz on Friday with Kobe Bryant acting mainly as a distributor on offense while the team played strong defense.
The Thunder are making the final stop in a six-game road trip and have taken three of the first five after easily dispatching the Sacramento Kings on Friday. Oklahoma City is the top scoring team in the NBA and will test Los Angeles’ new-found defense with two of the best scorers in the league in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The Lakers have won their last five games when allowing less than 95 points.
TV: 3:30 p.m. ABC
CONSENSUS: 85 percent of Cover Consensus plays are on Oklahoma City while 69 percent are on the under.
ABOUT THE THUNDER (34-10, 26-16-2 ATS): Oklahoma City has shown signs of fatigue on the current trip but had a day off on Saturday to rest up for the Lakers. The Thunder squandered a late lead in a loss at Golden State on Wednesday and got off to a sluggish start at Sacramento on Friday before busting out and pushing the lead to as much as 25 points in the third quarter en route to a 105-95 triumph. Sunday marks the end of a stretch of 11 of 13 games on the road for Oklahoma City, which included a 116-101 victory over the Lakers at Staples Center on Jan. 11. Durant went for 42 points and Westbrook added 27 and 10 assists as the Thunder shot 50.6 percent in the easy victory.
ABOUT THE LAKERS (18-25, 17-25-1 ATS): For all the talk of Los Angeles’ issues on offense, the team ranks among the top scoring teams in the NBA at an average of 102.3 points. The overlooked problem has been on the defensive end, where the Lakers rank in the bottom five in points allowed. They made a much stronger effort on that end against Utah on Friday, holding the Jazz to 37 points in the first half. Bryant handed out a season-high 14 assists while matching a season-low with only 10 field goal attempts in the 102-84 victory. Los Angeles held a team meeting before a loss to Memphis on Wednesday to air some grievances and looked like a more cohesive unit on Friday. The Lakers are still seven games below .500 but will face four straight teams with losing records after the Thunder exit Staples Center.
TRENDS:
* Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
* Thunder are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles.
* Thunder are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
* Favorite is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
* Road team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
BUZZER BEATERS:
1. Oklahoma City has taken each of the first two meetings this season and have won four straight and eight of the last 10 in the series.
2. Los Angeles coach Mike D’Antoni was reportedly given a vote of confidence by team management.
3. Lakers C Dwight Howard (shoulder) collected 17 points and 13 rebounds on Friday after leaving the previous game with the injury.Comment

Study group: Sunday's Top 25 NCAAB betting notes
There are just three Top-25 matchups on Sunday. Check out our betting news and notes for those contests.
Michigan State Spartans at Indiana Hoosiers (-10, 134)
The last time Indiana hosted Michigan State 11 months ago, the Hoosiers ended a six-game losing streak in the series. When they meet again on Sunday in Bloomington, one will do so with a chance to establish some breathing room atop the Big Ten standings near the midpoint of the conference season. By virtue of already playing seven league contests, No. 11 Michigan State has won one move win than No. 3 Michigan and No. 8 Indiana, each of which has played six games. With the Wolverines facing a tough road test in Illinois on Sunday, the winner of this contest could claim the top spot in the Big Ten for a short while, at least until the Spartans and Hoosiers meet again in East Lansing on Feb. 19. Indiana moved to 12-1 at home this season with Wednesday’s 72-49 pounding of Penn State while Michigan State extended its winning streak to six games with Tuesday’s grinding 49-47 victory at Wisconsin.
Michigan Wolverines at Illinois Fighting Illini (+6, 136)
No. 3 Michigan faces Illinois in Champaign on Sunday and, with a win, could take over the top spot in the national rankings. It's the second time in three weeks that the Wolverines are potentially a victory away from the No. 1 slot. Michigan fell to Ohio State in Columbus on Jan. 13, 56-53. Since, the Wolverines have beaten Minnesota on the road and Purdue at home to re-establish themselves. After starting 8-0 at Assembly Hall, the Fighting Illini have dropped their last two home contests - double-digit affairs against Minnesota and Northwestern. Those games were part of a three-game losing streak for Illinois, but a 20-point win at Nebraska on Tuesday should serve as something of a confidence booster entering the matchup with the Wolverines, who will be anxious to avenge their earlier misstep against the Buckeyes.
Creighton Bluejays at Southern Illinois Salukis (+12.5, 141)
Creighton will try to right the ship when it travels to Southern Illinois for a Missouri Valley Conference game Sunday evening. The No. 12 Bluejays are coming off back-to-back losses for the first time this season, dropping them out of first place in conference play. They lost by three points to No. 21 Wichita State last weekend, then fell to Drake—a team Creighton had defeated by 30 points 15 days earlier—by five on Wednesday. Doug McDermott, second in the nation in scoring at 23.8, was limited to two points in the second half against Drake because of illness. Southern Illinois will be without one of its best players against the Bluejays. Jeff Early, a senior guard who’s averaging 12.7 points and 7.5 rebounds, will serve a one-game suspension after committing a flagrant-2 foul in Wednesday’s loss to Northern Iowa.Comment
