            EZWINNERS

Colorado Buffalos @ West Virginia Mountaineers
            Play: West Virginia Mountaineers -16.5

Colorado is a very bad team especially on the offensive side of the ball where the Buffs offense is horrific. Colorado can't run the ball (109th in the nation), their quarterback play is shaky at best with Hawkins under center and they lack big time playmakers. West Virginia will be seeking revenge for last year’s loss at Colorado and they have several homerun threats on their team led by running back Noel Devine. The Mountaineers could easily be 3-0 right now, but six turnovers killed them in their loss to Auburn despite outgaining the Tigers by over 100 total yards. Colorado is only 2-11 against the spread in their last thirteen games as a road underdog. Lay the points.

              2 UNIT PLAY

              Colorado +17 over WEST VIRGINIA

The 'Neers defense has not been that great this year as they have allowed 27 ppg so far, giving up 6 TD's through the air with only 3 INT's. Colorado is off to a slow start but they will be the more desperate team here as they keep this one to under 14 points.

Top of the Ticket - Day Total

                UNDER 9 RUNS,LOS ANGELES ANGELS(Lackey)-vs- Texas Rangers (Millwood)10/1/2009 6:05:00 PM

                4* #966 ANGELS/TEXAS Under

We expect a couple of veteran starting pitchers to bring a lot of pride to the table in this one. We also expect a couple of flat lineups. Add in the Anaheim shadows for this unusual starting time, and the runs are difficult to find. The Rangers are just trying to limp their way home at the end of a disappointing finish, and have managed only two runs through this entire series. With Josh Hamilton done for the season, and Nelson Cruz and Hank Blalock already scratched for today, that form is not going to change, especially as John lackey brings a bit of a chip on his shoulder to the proceedings. Lackey had been one of baseball?s best since the All Star break until falling off in back-to-back starts, allowing six runs on 10 hits from this mound in his last outing vs. Oakland. We can back him to bring the right focus to get back on track before facing the Red Sox next week, with this being much more than just a tune-up for him. Meanwhile Kevin Millwood had some physical issues that took his game off track in mid-August, but he has kept battling to get back to form and we see it right now ? in his last two starts he held the Athletics (one of the best September offenses out there) and Rays to two earned runs over 14 innings, on just 10 hits, with the kind of ground ball ratio we expect from him when he is on his game. We can count on him to be a ?Pro?s Pro? in this setting, and we expect to see the Angel lineup deteriorate over the course of the late afternoon, as Mike Scioscia has most of his starters in the game early on Fan Appreciation Day, but then pulls most of them after an at-bat or two.

                  971 OAK (-120) SportBet vs 972 SEA

Analysis: -Anderson and Fister must start or no action-
I see a clear cut starting pitching advantage for this matchup tonight. For Oakland, Brett Anderson takes the ball, & the 21-year-old left-hander is 4-0 with a 2.28 ERA since losing at Los Angeles on Aug. 30. Anderson is 2-1 with a 3.75 ERA in four starts against the Mariners, and Anderson has 142 strikeouts, moving him past Rick Langford for most by a rookie in Oakland history. For Seattle, Fister takes the ball & he's looking to avoid losing his fourth straight start after giving up four runs in 6 2-3 innings of a 5-0 defeat at Toronto on Friday. The right-handeär, who's 0-3 with a 7.08 ERA in four starts since beating Los Angeles on Sept. 1. Both teams have solid bullpens, and I look for another great effort out of Anderson tonight, & I look for Oakland to snap their 3 game losing streak tonight.

1-Unit Play. Take 'Over' 9.0 Minnesota at Detroit (1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1)
                    0.5-Unit Play. Take #963 Minnesota (-115) over Detroit (1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1)
No idea how that game stayed 'under' last night, but it did. Well, it shouldn't have. These teams have to be a bit whipped and I think that the Twins will be able to do some work on Nate Robertson, who is terrible. Scott Baker has an ERA of 9.0 in his three starts against the Tigers this year and has a 5.45 ERA in day games. Robertson has a 4.21 ERA in his career against the Twins and a 4.75 ERA in day games. Robertson is a loser, so let's hope for another vintage outing from him.

                    That's it for today. Ferringo

3* Thursday Night SMASH (ESPN) on West Virginia -16.5
This is the same Colorado team which allowed 54 points at Toledo a few weeks back. If Toledo can put up 54, so can the Mountaineers. West Virginia has been scoring big points against much better competition, 35 on E. Carolina and 30 on Auburn. They likely score even more if it wasn't for a bundle of turnovers. You can be rest assured that WVU will do a much better job of taking care of the football tonight. Bottom line, this is a revenge game. WVU went down by 3 in OT at Boulder last season and now the Mountaineers return the favor in a big way. Colorado's defense is awful and the offense has been no better. The Buffaloes are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games as a road underdog. WVU is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 at home facing non-conference foes. WVU by 3 touchdowns. Lay the points.
